Our Story

Christopher and Monica’s story started the way all great modern love stories do: on Bumble, with a swipe, a match, and a first date at a sushi restaurant. From the very beginning, we hit it off. The conversation was easy, the sushi was great, and we quickly realized we had a lot in common: a love for good food, good coffee, going to the gym, and being just a little obsessive about health and fitness. But the real plot twist of our first date involved chopsticks. At dinner, Monica noticed the way Christopher was holding his chopsticks and became fully convinced he was only pretending to know how to use them. In her mind, he was trying to look cultured and impressive, but clearly needed help. So, for months afterward, any time we had a meal involving chopsticks, Monica would very kindly offer Christopher a fork. Christopher, completely confused but trying to be polite, would always decline and keep using chopsticks. Eventually, after months of this quiet chopstick drama, Christopher finally asked why Monica kept offering him a fork. Monica confidently explained that she “knew” he didn’t actually know how to use chopsticks. Christopher couldn’t stop laughing, mostly because he had grown up using chopsticks and had no idea he had been silently failing Monica’s chopstick test since date one. Thankfully, we survived the great chopstick misunderstanding of 2023, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. Now, after already saying “I do,” we’re so excited to celebrate our marriage with the people we love most. Thank you for being part of our story, our celebration, and hopefully a night filled with good food, laughter, love, and absolutely no fork judgment.
