What does "Sunday Casual" mean for the mountains?

Answer

We want everyone to be comfortable so make sure you bring a jacket or wear a sweater as part of your outfit to make sure that you aren't cold while we are out there celebrating!

How do I find the picnic area?

Answer

If you use the "Map" option on the "Events" page then that will take you to a Google Maps link that will populate it automatically for you, but it is at mile marker 296 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. For those who are not familiar with the Parkway, if you are heading towards it from Boone, once you get onto the on-ramp for the Parkway, you will come to the stop sign and turn left. You will keep going on the Parkway until you start seeing signs from the Picnic Area and it will eventually be on the right-hand side of the road.

Does "favorite beverage of choice" mean alcohol?

Answer

We said that because the official answer on if alcohol was allowed on the parkway or not is as follows: "Open containers of alcohol in a vehicle or in a public place are prohibited, except in designated picnic areas, campgrounds, and concessioner-operated locations. Drinking and driving is taken very seriously in national parks." meaning that we can have it since it is a picnic area. Just make sure to take out what you bring in or that it ends up in the designated trash areas!

What about seating?

As mentioned before, this is going to be a picnic wedding! There will be some seating in the picnic area where we will be, but it is limited so please make sure that to bring a folding chair/camping chair or a blanket to sit on!
