Malia and Christopher met at work, they started off as really good friends. Until one night Malia and Christopher and some coworkers went to Landmark in Cedar Falls, IA. In conversation they made an agreement that if they were still single by the age of 30 they would get married and move in and remain good friends. After that Christopher was determined to get to know Malia a little more. They would message a lot back and forth and many attempts from Christopher to have Malia come over for dinner. Finally he told Malia that he wanted to take her out on a date. February 19, 2022 They went on their first date. Malia was texting her mom and her mom sent a picture of her and Malia’s Step dad, Gerry. So, Malia took a picture with her and Christopher. After that, everything came together, they spent more time together and got closer and closer until April 13th 2022 when Christopher asked Malia to be his girlfriend. She agreed as long as she got fried pickles and a Lemon Drop Shot. Everyone says that the first 6 months of a relationship is the “Honeymoon Stage” and the first year of marriage is the hardest but that wasn’t the case for Christopher and Malia. They experienced a lot of ups and downs, good days and bad days and it only made them love and appreciate each other even more. It didn’t take long for them to know that they wanted to spend forever together. One day while having dinner with Malia’s grandma they jokingly made a wedding list of who they would have in their wedding party. September 3, 2022 after telling Malia he wanted family pictures with him, Ximena and her, Christopher brought Malia to the auditorium by Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo and after getting some pictures said that Ximena needed her diaper changed. He went to do so and changed Ximena to a shirt that said “Will You Be My Bonus Mom?” and jeans and ran to Malia. Malia read the shirt and looked over to see Christopher on one knee. After that, the rest is history.
