The woman who raised me, shaped me, and somehow survived all my phases along the way. She’s the heart of my family, and the first person to cry happy tears at every milestone- including this one. I’m lucky to have her cheering us on, offering support, (and her opinions), and proudly taking her spot as Mother of the Groom for Christopher. La mujer que me crió, me formó y que, de alguna manera, sobrevivió a todas mis etapas. My first love, my best friend, and my rock. Raised Jose as a single mother with 4 other siblings she did it all. As the head of our family worked hard to provide for her family and taught great lessons for life. She is endlessly proud of all of our achievements and is the loudest cheerleader. Mi primer amor, mi mejor amiga y mi gran apoyo. Criando a José como madre soltera junto con sus otros cuatro hijos, lo hizo todo. Christopher’s brother: the legend, the chaos coordinator, and the only person who knows all my embarrassing childhood stories - and has agreed NOT to share them (for now). He’s been my lifelong sidekick, my unofficial bodyguard, now my Man of Honor. I couldn’t imagine surviving this wedding without him, and honestly he loves the spotlight too much to have said no anyway. El hermano de Christopher: la leyenda, el coordinador del caos y la única persona que conoce todas mis historias vergonzosas de la infancia, y que ha prometido no contarlas (por ahora). Jose’s best friend from high school. They share the same birthday so you will find them often calling each other twins. After graduation, Jose and Jazmin were roommates for year before they moved to Omaha. Jazmin was the first to flee the nest but Jose followed soon after her. They may not be blood related but their relationship would show you otherwise. Through their busy schedules growing into adulthood they always hold space for each other. Jazmin is one of Jose’s confidants and when together they are a force to be reconned with. Jazmín es la mejor amiga de José desde la secundaria. Comparten el mismo cumpleaños, por lo cual se llaman gemelos. Después de graduarse, José y Jazmín fueron compañeros de cuarto durante un año antes de mudarse a Omaha. Christopher’s best friend, professional bad - influence, and the one human who knows way too much about me to NOT be in the wedding. She’s been my partner in crime for years, my go - to for questionable decisions, and now my Matron of Honor - mostly because she refused to sit quietly in the audience. She’ll be keeping me laughing, keeping me sane, and keeping me from sprinting to the bar before the ceremony. I wouldn’t survive this wedding without her. La mejor amiga de Christopher, una mala influencia profesional y la única persona que sabe demasiado sobre mí que no puede no estar en la boda. Jasmin is another founding piece of Jose’s high school friendships. Sharing the same last name their friendship was destined forever. Being the more mature and goal oriented of the group she is the mom of the trio. Jasmin, Jazmin and Jose form the trio of a lifetime. Jazmin is always that guiding voice and person of reason. She is Jose’s inspiration and another friend turn family. Jasmin es otra pieza fundamental en las amistades de la adolescencia de José. Al compartir el mismo apellido, su amistad estaba destinada para siempre. Siendo la más madura y centrada del grupo, es como la madre del trío. Jasmin, Jazmin y José forman un trío inseparable. Taylor is one of Christopher’s favorite partners-in-chaos in the OR. She’s steady under pressure, quick with sarcasm, and somehow always finds a way to make even the longest days hilarious. She’s the friend who shows up, steps up, and keeps everyone laughing along the way. Having her in the wedding is basically like having a built-in morale officer. Taylor es una de las compañeras de travesuras favoritas de Christopher en el quirófano. Mantiene la calma bajo presión, tiene un sarcasmo ingenioso y, de alguna manera, siempre encuentra la manera de hacer que incluso los días más largos sean divertidos. Miranda is Jose’s color guard partner in crime. They met through Railmen Winterguard and Miranda was also coached by Jose her senior year. Since then they’ve been a duo spinning their way together. From Fremont and now to Westview they are inseparable. Miranda es la compañera inseparable de José en delito. Brittany is another one of Christopher’s OR partners who can handle anything - from chaotic cases, to my endless complaining - with grace and humor. She’s the friend who keeps things organized while still causing just a little bit of trouble (the fun kind). I couldn’t imagine this day without her keeping the vibes high and the jokes rolling. Brittany es otra de las compañeras de Christopher en el quirófano que puede con todo, desde casos caóticos hasta mis interminables quejas, siempre con gracia y buen humor. Sam is Jose’s mini-me at work. They instantly connected when Jose was her trainer. Since then they’ve have formed a friendship. Though at work Jose is her boss, they enjoy giving each other grief to make the nights go by fast. Outside of work they are a mischievous combo. Sam es la versión en miniatura de José en el trabajo. She’s Christopher’s work mom, my partner in laughter, and the poor soul I’ve embarrassed more times than I can count with my antics - but she still claims me anyway. She keeps me grounded, keeps me laughing, and somehow manages to take care of everyone around her while still being the life of the OR. I’m lucky to call her a close friend and even luckier to have her standing with me on this day. Ella es la mamá de trabajo de Christopher. Mi cómplice de risas y la pobre alma a la que he avergonzado incontables veces con mis travesuras, pero aun así me quiere. Angelina, Jose’s work sister. You will see them bickering one minute and cackling the next. Angelina knows how to push Jose’s buttons and keeps him on his toes. It is almost like Chris hired her to be him while Jose is away at work. Even then, Angelina is fierce woman. Angelina es la compañera de trabajo de José. Christopher and Lauryn grew up knowing each other, drifted after school, and then life surprised us by putting us in the same OR years later. Working together brought us back into each other’s lives, and I’m so grateful it did. She’s an amazing OR nurse, a steady presence on even the wildest days, and someone I’m lucky to call a friend again. Having her as a bridesmaid feels like everything came full circle in the best way. Christopher y Lauryn se conocieron desde pequeños, se distanciaron después de la escuela, y la vida nos sorprendió al reencontrarnos en el mismo quirófano años después. Trabajar juntos nos unió de nuevo, y estoy muy agradecido por ello. From the same hometown Lexington, Jose and Maura found each other in Omaha. The world is a small place and this proved true when Maura arrived to AirCom. A bond of the place they grew up and people they knew. Although destiny had it to where they never crossed paths until adulthood. Maura is fashionista of the friend group and the one with the purest heart. Originarios de la misma ciudad Lexington, José y Maura se conocieron en Omaha. El mundo es pequeño, y esto se confirmó cuando Maura llegó a AirCom. Los unía el lugar donde crecieron y las personas que conocían. Bre and Christopher survived the OR together, which means we’ve already been through the kind of stress that bonds people for life. She’s equal parts reliable and ridiculous - in the best way possible - and always knows exactly when to crack a joke or give a reality check. I’m so grateful she’s part of this day, still cheering me on, even from outside our old department. Bre y Christopher sobrevivieron juntos a la sala de operaciones, lo que significa que ya hemos pasado por el tipo de estrés que une a las personas para siempre. Jose’s kid sister, the baby of the family. Mariana is the blessing that no one expected to receive. The greatest teacher in love, patience and kindness. Mariana is a happy dancing (and singing) princess. When it came to selecting the flower child, she is hands down the one for the job. La hermana pequeña de José, la bebe de la familia. Mariana es una bendición inesperada. La mejor maestra en amor, paciencia y bondad. Mariana es una princesa alegre a la que le encanta bailar (y cantar).
