Jackie and Chris worked together at Camp Farley in 2009, where Chris was an archery instructor and Jackie was the camp nurse. Seeing the foundation of a survival group in the event of a zombie apocalypse, they quickly became friends. A few years later they reconnected and began dating, bonding over their adorable cats, nerdy hobbies, and running the Spartan Race. Before Chris even realized it, Jackie had moved in with him! They have enjoyed the city life together in Boston for 6 years; Walking through the South End, trying out new restaurants, and attending various shows and events (such as Brew and the Zoo and the Bacon and Beer Festival)! One of their favorite things to do is have a group of friends over for a night of board games and fun. In April of 2017, their lives changed forever when their son Grayson Alexander Barry came into the world. Being parents has been a lot of work, but incredibly rewarding. Grayson is the cutest little man to ever crawl the Earth (we're really close to walking!), and they've been incredibly happy. Chris and Jackie couldn't be more excited to celebrate the next step of their lives with all of the friends and family that mean so much to them!
Chris and Jackie LOVE the holiday season, looking forward all year to enjoy Christmas songs, decorations, and movies. Actually not even waiting most of the time, as you'll find Home Alone and The Santa Clause playing on their TV several times a month (and quoted twice as often). So when Chris was finally ready to propose, he decided a Christmas theme would be the way to go. He made plans for them to visit the Stoneham Zoo's holiday light display, complete with reindeer, Santa, and cocoa. After finding the right time for everyone's schedules and getting the grandparents to babysit Grayson, they were ready to go out on their first date since becoming parents! Until the zoo's light display was cancelled that night because of freezing rain. Not having the chance to reschedule, Chris decided to change the plan to a nice night out in Boston instead: Dinner and a show, and walking through the Commons to enjoy the big Christmas tree that is lit up every night. Until they got to the Commons and the Christmas lights were all out. So they walked around a bit and Chris thought, 'Screw it!' and pulled out the ring and asked Jackie to marry him. She had no idea it was coming, and said yes!
