All in All, we’re just two kids from the Northside of Huntsville who fell in love. We’ve known each other for years but through the power of Social Media, A DM and a conversation about life that started one day and continued to blossom into a beautiful relationship. After talking/dating, we made things official on 7/11/2020 which also happens to be my niece’s and Chris’s Grandfather’s birthdays. We bonded over our love for music, movies and cooking. With COVID still being very much a thing around that time, our relationship was very unique because we had to time to get to know each other because of the lockdowns and having to be inside. But with God on our side, a lot of traveling back and forth from state to state, plus the art of technology, we made it to where we are today. THE PROPOSAL….. Chris talked about us getting married not even a month after we made official. He always told me, when a man knows, he knows. But of course, me being who I am, I just thought it was all talk. I didn’t know he was already making moves in the background. Last year, Labor Day Weekend…Chris had “the talk” with my dad and asked him for my hand in marriage. We didn’t know that a little over a month later, he would no longer be with us. October 19th, 2020, Chris asked me to marry him while on a visit to Atlanta. Of course, I accepted. We’ve kept it quiet because (1) that’s our business but also because we wanted to enjoy the moment minus any noise. We also had to start planning and preparing for the transition since I still lived in Atlanta. Also with COVID, we had to delay plans for our meeting. But by the grace of God, our parents and loved ones made it happen. The blessing of all of this was that my dad was able to meet and sign off on this before he passed away. And he knew I would be in good hands and well taken care of.
