HOW DO I CONFIRM MY OVERNIGHT STAY?

Answer

We will assume that all confirmed guests will be staying on the island unless you contact us otherwise. Please do so by 21/12/2021. To reserve your room please transfer the required £150pp* by 21st December 2021 via the bank details below. CAN I STAY FOR ONE NIGHT?

Answer

Osea has a two night minimum non-negotiable policy. All rooms occupied during our wedding weekend will carry a two night charge (whether you chose to stay for both or not).

IF I DON'T WANT TO STAY ON THE ISLAND, WHAT ARE MY OTHER OPTIONS?

Answer

Although our wedding will be a weekend experience, there are other options available if you do not wish to stay on the island. OPTION ONE: Drive on and off the island on the same day (please take note of the tide times) OPTION TWO: Get a taxi off the island during low tide (please book your transport with plenty of notice - we can provide taxi companies who are willing to travel across the causeway). OPTION THREE: Get a water taxi off the island during high tide (water taxis cost £60 each way and will drop you at Heybridge Basin). Please remember to identify which of the weekend events you will be joining us for when RSVP'ing.

IS THERE ALTERNATIVE ACCOMMODATION CLOSE BY?

Answer

Osea Leisure Park is on the 'mainland' end of the causeway and has a variety of accommodation options available at different price points. We recommend booking this ASAP to avoid disappointment as it does get booked up far in advance. Website: http://www.osealeisure.com PLEASE NOTE: you cannot cross the causeway by foot. If you are booking accommodation off the island, please remember to book suitable transport. Remember to select which of the wedding events you will be joining us for on the RSVP section of the website.

WHAT ARE THE LOW TIDE TIMES ACROSS ALL THREE DAYS?

Low tide is when the island is accessible by car via the causeway. Friday AM - 07.40 - 11.40 PM - 20.15 - 00.15 Saturday AM - 08.28 - 12.28 PM - 22.07 - 01.07 Sunday ** - 09.23am - 13.23pm

WHAT IF I'M LATE & I MISS THE OPEN CAUSEWAY?

Answer

PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS! However, if there is a situation out of your control you'll have to wait for high tide and get a water taxi at a cost of £60. If you are running late, please contact one of the wedding party ASAP in order for them to arrange with the Osea events team.

ARE CHILDREN WELCOME?

Answer

Children of all ages are welcome. Please let us know if you intend to bring your little one/s and if you will bringing a travel cot and portable high chair with you. All properties have self catering and refrigeration facilities should wish to prepare/ bring pre-prepared baby meals with you. Our caterers can supply a children's meal and the venue has a set limit of travel cots and high chairs, if required. There will not be an accommodation fee for any children sleeping in a cot. We have supplemented half the cost of those who will require a bed, this will now cost £75 per child for the weekend. Unfortunately there are no 'cot beds' for toddlers but we can discuss options. Whilst we would love to host a weekend that appeals to all our guests, it is with regret that we will not be providing children's entertainment.

WHAT HAPPENS IF COVID RETURNS?

Answer

The dreaded *C* word. Osea Island's T&Cs: In the event that Covid-19 restrictions prevent Osea Island from being able to act as a host for the booking, options to reschedule or receive a full refund will be provided. We have also purchased wedding insurance that covers us for this eventuality. We can provide assurance that there will be no additional accommodation costs or booking fees for our guests.

IS THERE A GIFT REGISTRY?

Answer

Your presence is a present in itself! However, if you would like to give us a wedding gift, we would appreciate a contribution towards our wedding fund. We are hoping to visit Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

IS THERE A DRESS CODE?

Answer

Formal wedding attire is expected though you will be required to move around the island on the day so please ensure your shoes are comfortable and lawn-friendly. Osea is open to the elements, we recommend having something warm to wear in the evenings.

SHOULD I BRING FOOD AND DRINK WITH ME?

Answer

All the accommodation on the island is set up for self-catering. Though all events will be catered and breakfast supplied on Saturday morning, we strongly suggest that you bring some snacks with you as there are no shops, restaurants or cafes. You are also able to consume your own alcohol in your private accommodation.

IS OSEA ISLAND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC?

Answer

No, it's a private island so you can only visit if you have a booking or are known to Osea staff. Whilst we have reserved the majority of accommodation there is a small number of rooms still available for the public to book.
