How We Met

Boomer

Chris and I met (of all places...) Online. We were both experiencing one of the worst times of our lives. It all started with one simple word; BOOMER. To which he of course replied SOONER. From that moment on it was non stop texting and calling and all night phone conversations. After a few weeks we decided it was finally time to meet face to face, so he came to a little T-Ball game and we haven't been apart since. I personally knew very early on that he was the one. He was so sweet, loving, caring, and open. He listened to my stories, and had a genuine interest in what I had to say. I could just look at him and smile from ear to ear. I've never felt a love so gentle and passionate in my entire life.

The Proposal

How he asked

It was the sweetest and most perfect proposal ever. It was Christmas Eve and we were exchanging our gifts to each other. He then asked me and the kids to sit on the couch because his gift to me was also for the kids. Mallory, Weston and I sat on the couch and he asked us to close our eyes. When he said open, he was down on one knee with the ring in his hand and said "Courteney, will you Marry Me?" Of course I cried like a baby and said YES. Chris not only asked my dad for his blessing, but asked my babies to marry him as well. He knows hes not just marrying me, he's also becoming a father, gaining two children. I couldn't be more lucky to have someone who loves my babies as much as I do and as if they were his own children. Good men are rare, and good fathers are even more so. I think God blessed us with one of the best.

Our Story

All About Us

Obviously we are both avid Sooner fans, and that's what ultimately brought us together. Our love for the Sooners runs deep. We love football! We also love to have fun, drink beer, play poker, camp, fish, swim, float, and just have a good time. We've both made the statement before that we finally feel like we can be ourselves. We don't have to pretend to be someone we aren't, or pretend to like something we don't. For the most part we love the same things, and we love to joke, laugh, be goofy, and just have fun. I don't think either of us have gone a single day without smiling since the day we first started talking. Even on the bad days we always find a way to make the other one smile, even if only for a brief moment. There will always be those hard times, and days where nothing goes right and you're just mad at the world. But having someone who can take a few seconds to make you smile in the midst of a horrible day is a blessing beyond all else. We are both Christians and love God above all else. We want to travel and see the world, take the kids places we've never been, and raise a loving God fearing family. Finding someone who has the same core values, hopes, and dreams is tough. It took both of us several trial and errors before we found the right person, but in all honesty it was well worth the wait. The love we have is beyond anything I could've ever hoped for. I thank God every single day for bringing us together, and showing us what love and family is really all about. Now we get to have fun, laugh and joke for the rest of our lives all while raising our beautiful blended family. For that I am eternally grateful.
