To get a true sense of Lake Tahoe (and if you’re not afraid of heights) take a 2.4 mile gondola ride up the mountain peak to an elevation of 9,100 feet! At the top you can spend time on the observation deck and take in breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe, Carson Valley, and Desolation Wilderness. Once at the top you'll also have the opportunity to test out the Mountain Roller Coaster, Tubing Hill, and a variety of Ropes Courses!
Lake Tahoe’s crown jewel – an oasis of shimmering greens, turquoise and blues against a strikingly beautiful mountain backdrop on the Lake’s west shore – this is Emerald Bay. Due to Lake Tahoe’s incredible clarity and depth, the colors of the lake are surreal, and Emerald Bay is the perfect place to take in the entirety of the scene. Get there early as parking is limited.
A moderate hiking trail with beautiful views conveniently located within walking distance from our recommended hotels.
In the summer Zephyr Cove is known for it’s beach activities. Feel free to relax on the beach, rent a boat, or go parasailing. Zephyr Cove is also home to the MS Dixie II Paddle Wheeler which offers various cruises around the lake. A sunset dinner cruise would be a great way to explore the lake and take advantage of some wonderful photo opportunities.
Another great way to get know Tahoe and enjoy the scenic route is by bike! There are plenty of bike rentals so feel free to check any out. We like this one because it’s right on a beautiful bike path through woods and historical sites, as well as easy biking distance to the famous rum runners at the Beacon Bar & Grill.
Another great beach with beautiful views, boat rentals, and a tiki bar!
