FAQs

FYI: Typically on Labor Day Weekend, there is a large music festival on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. This is not very close to any of our locations but most of the the city's museums are located there.
Question

Is there parking at the church?

Answer

YES! The church is located in a South Philly neighborhood. There is a large parking lot behind the church. You can enter the parking lot from 17th street.

Question

Will there be transportation after the reception?

Answer

We will not have transportation from our reception to Hotel Monaco. It is two blocks away, so the walk is very easy and you get to walk right past Independence Hall!

Question

Will there be transportation to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes! We will have transportation from Hotel Monaco to St. Thomas Aquinas. The shuttle will then bring guests back to the hotel prior to cocktail hour.

Question

What is the after party?

Answer

We have decided to extend our time at Union Trust. It will be what seems like a continuation of our reception. For an additional two hours, we will keep the party going! There will still be an open bar and some late night favorite foods during this time!

Question

Will any events take place outdoors?

Answer

No, our ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and after party will all be indoors.

Question

We are flying to Philadelphia, do we need to rent a car?

Answer

Definitely not! The Philadelphia Airport is about a 15-20 minute trip to the hotels. There are typically plenty of ride-share vehicles in the area of the airport. Cabs are also readily available outside the airport, and will cost about the same as any app. The area in which our hotels are have SO much to do in walking distance. We have listed many of our favorite places in the city on the "THINGS TO DO" page. Even if you opted to get to the ceremony on your own, the church is only a 10 minute car-share ride away!

Question

Is there a dress code for the wedding?

Answer

We have decided on BLACK TIE ENCOURAGED as our dress code. What does this mean? This term means that couple really want their guests to wear a tux or full-length gown, but will also accept formal suits and dresses. It does not mean you need to wear the color black.

Question

How long will the ceremony last?

Answer

The ceremony will be a classic catholic wedding ceremony. It will be 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Question

What is an unplugged wedding?

Answer

Unplugged ceremonies are when the Wedding Couple request that all wedding guests not only put their cell phones and iPads and personal cameras away during the ceremony, but turn them off, and don’t use them AT ALL.
