Alexandra and Christopher first crossed paths in studio class at the University of Arizona, though they didn’t truly learn each other’s names until the early hours of Alexandra’s 19th birthday. That night, Alexandra stopped by the studio to pull a friend away to a party, where Christopher was hard at work while playing music through his speaker. Alexandra thought Christopher was a great DJ; Christopher thought Alexandra was drunk. Both were right. They quickly became friends. Christopher would walk Alexandra back to her dorm at night, and along their way was an orange-tree-lined path, they invented a game—trying to hit the center tree with an orange. What started as a simple challenge turned into hours of laughter, easy conversation, and getting to know one another. A few weeks later, Christopher invited Alexandra to hang out “as friends” at his buddy’s dorm to play a dice game. Christopher made a bet: if he rolled a three, they had to go throw oranges under the trees again. And to Alexandra’s surprise he rolled a three (on his third try). Off they went. As they tossed oranges beneath the trees, a passing fraternity brother voiced exactly what Alexandra was thinking: “Just kiss her already!” And that's exactly Christopher did. Soon after, Alexandra and Christopher went on their first official date—a hike—and from that day on, they began dating. They fell in love quickly and, ever since, have continued to fall in love with each other a little more every day.
