We met in the cafeteria at Western Kentucky University on our first day of College. Chris saw me walking around looking for a place to sit, so he stood up, practically leaped out of his chair and said "no one is sitting here!". My first instinct was to walk away because he said that with a mouth full of salad, sort of mumbling, which kind of grossed me out. Despite all that i couldn't say no because he had the most sincere smile on his face, like he really wanted me to sit with him, so i did. Over the next week following that day he dragged me around introducing me to all his friends, talking about how excited he was to have made a new friend, the kindness and sincerity he showed everyone he met took my breath away, and i realized that i wanted him in my life.
The day I met her was the first day of freshman year of college. I was sitting in the cafeteria eating when I saw her. without thinking I lifted myself slightly out of the chair and pointed to the chair across from me, telling her the seat was open. I don't know why I did this, its not something I would normally have done. maybe some part of me knew how much she would mean to me in the future, and made me do it. But all in all I am extremely glad I did it. After lunch I invited her to get my books with me at the campus store. We just kept talking and talking for a good portion of the day. Meeting Jade was the best thing that ever happened to me. I cant wait to spend the rest of my life with her.
We were on vacation in Myrtle beach, North Carolina. he waited until the sun was setting on our last day there. We were laying on the beach, talking about how amazing the trip had been and how happy I was being there. He propped himself up on his elbow and started reading off his phone. I had no idea what was happening, so of course I teased him for getting on his phone when we were talking, and he just looked at me, pulled out the ring box and said "shh". and I was so shocked, even when he said "will you marry me?" I just sort of sat there staring at him for a minute before I finally realized I hadn't answered him yet. And of course I said yes, but then insisted we wait on planning the wedding until we were both ready for it. And now we are :)
