It started in January of 2023 with coffee on a dry winter day, a many-hour conversation, and one stolen book. By the end of their first date, Ari had accidentally walked off with Christoph’s book in his tote bag. It was, in retrospect, an excellent move—it guaranteed a second date. What followed was a fast and helpless fall for each other full of long conversations about books and dreams and everything in between, a quick deletion of dating apps, and the chaotic negotiations of an author and an actor with wildly different schedules and even wilder definitions of “morning.” Christoph and Ari were engaged in April 2024, a process that involved two cities, a detour around a construction site, and one very fortuitous LOVE sign appearing behind them entirely by accident. Many exchanged books and a few years of continued chaos later, they’re excited to celebrate their next chapter with you.
