How we met

Tanner and I met through some mutual friends during a game of pool at our school. We had sparks right away. Over the year we got to know each other more and more and realized that it was God's plan to bring us together. We’ve been through many adventures together and can’t wait to have more as a married couple.

How he proposed

August 12, 2021

Tanner had planned his proposal for months and disguised it as a photo session with one of his best friends and his girlfriend at the time. I was so excited to see them as it had been a long time since getting to hang out. Tanner was more excited that all his plans were coming together and that I had no clue what was going on. When the day finally came, I almost didn’t make it as I had come down with some stomach bug. But Tanner and his mom convinced me that I should be okay as it was a very relaxed photo session. As we drove to Gatlinburg to some of the most beautiful Mountain View’s that I am just absolutely obsessed with. They all kept asking which place I thought would be the best background, but I was getting carsick on all those twists and turns so I just wanted someone to choose other than me. Finally we decided on a beautiful spot and pulled over. It was such a sweet moment when I realized it was one of the spots I had always wanted to stop at on the road we always drove on in Gatlinburg. We started taking couple pictures of each other when Micah said he remembered a pose him and his girlfriend did a while back that he wanted me and Tanner to try. So naturally I was clueless and just excited to finally be getting cute pictures with Tanner. Micah set me up looking towards the mountains as he instructed Tanner into place. He then started to get into place to take pictures as his girlfriend at the time recorded it on her phone. Naturally Tanner got impatient as he thought I would turn around before Micah got into position for the right angles. Tanner said alright you can turn and I turned around and he was kneeling! He said will you marry me? His hands shaking and he had the biggest brightest smile on his face. I was so surprised and excited that I instantly got nauseous and had to sit in the car for a minute. This wasn’t enough as I got sick all over the side of the road a few seconds later. Once I got a hold of myself, we got some of our first pictures together as an engaged couple and called all of our family saying “WE’RE ENGAGED!!”
