William and Emily both began attending Wichita State University in the Fall of 2018. After meeting through a couple friends and hanging out backstage while on crew for Seussical the Musical together, William invited Emily to come see Ned Flander's metal band, Okilly Dokilly, in concert at Norton's Brewing Co. Little did they know that over the course of the next few months, all the time they were spending together would result in them falling for each other.

It was the night before Halloween and William & Emily had made plans to attend the midnight performance of Rocky Horror Show at the Crown Uptown in Wichita with their friends, Erin and Carson. Much to Emily's surprise, William had been making behind-the-scenes plans with their good friend, Taylor, who happened to be Stage Manager of the production. As soon as the cast finished their bows and the curtains closed, the familiar tune of Field Medic's "UUU" began playing over the house speakers. It was in that moment that Taylor requested for everyone to turn their attention to the audience for a "very special question." William got down on one knee and well, the rest is history...
