Sometimes the best stories start with the simplest of nights. Christine moved to Milwaukee in the Summer of 2020 to chase her dream of becoming a dentist, and Sy had moved to the same city for work that fall. Two paths crossing at just the right time, in just the right place. Sy’s cousin Tyler, who happened to be in Christine’s Marquette dental school class, invited Sy out for a casual night at the bars with his classmates. Sy didn’t know it then, but that invitation was the beginning of everything. That night, in a city that was still new to both of them, they met. Something clicked instantly. Their conversation felt easy, natural—like they had known each other much longer than just a few hours. Before the night ended, they had already planned their first date to celebrate Christine’s birthday, which she rescheduled last minute and almost gave Sy a heart attack.
