We believe that Portuguese cuisine uses simple cooking methods to enhance flavors of superb ingredients. If you love seafood, this restaurant is a must. Some may say that this is tourist trap, but (1) you indeed are a tourist and (2) there is a reason why this place is popping! A true big backtivity would include getting the steak sandwich for dessert!
This popular restaurant requires a ferry to the other side of the river Tagus. If you have a few days to spend in Lisbon, we recommend going here for some amazing views and amazing food-- octopus salad and monkfish stew are our favorites!
Christine and Steve may have frequented here daily to start the day with some egg tarts :)
When Steve was young and still into his solo-backpacking trips, he stumbled into this restaurant before his flight back to NYC. He was captivated by the hospitality, cheap wine, and delicious food, and Steve has gone back to this restaurant on 2 other occasions. This is a true local spot that will test your non-existent Portuguese while reflecting a true Lisbon experience.
A great local spot for some piri piri chicken and beers!
Take a trip outside of Lisbon to tour a colorful palace in the mountains of Sintra!
Find the trendiest restaurants, bars, and shops in what was once an old industrial textile complex
Another great location for a beach day trip!
Enjoy the coast of Lisbon. Pro tip: rent an electric scooter and ride along the river! You can also stop by at Pastéis de Belém, which some claim to be the best spot for those delicious egg tarts!
