There is arguably no better place to celebrate July 4th than on a boat in San Diego. Little did we know that we had mutual friends that would bring us together on one. We partied the day away on a boat in Sail Bay. Scott was that silly guy, goofing around with his friends, Christine was that girl that was hard to ignore, easily making friends with her infectious smile. Fireworks lit up the sky, and our relationship sparked.
Our first official date was at OB Dog Beach, a fitting spot for a dog-lover like Christine. The girl who will always stop and ask if she can pet your dog! As the dates continued, so did our love for each other. Over our time in San Diego, we frequented the dog beach, hikes in Mission Trails, going out to eat in Pacific Beach, and our favorite breakfast joint, Rose Donuts. Two years later, our time was near the end in San Diego, as Scott got orders to South Carolina, we had a last hurrah of those favorite activities, the activities that made us, us. We ended the night walking the path in Mission Bay, right on the other side of the bridge from where we first met. As we paused to wait for the Sea World fireworks to go off, Scott dropped to a knee, and Christine said yes! The fireworks lit up the sky as well as the smiles on our faces.
