Hotel
If you wish to stay in Tipperary/Limerick area before or after the wedding, we recommend the following places to visit or stay. You could definitely base yourself in this area for a longer visit and have loads to do and see! That said, we recommend seeing as much of Ireland as you would like on this trip! 1. Cashel Cashel is a very historic town just 19 mins (driving) from Kilshane. There you will find the Rock of Cashel (which was the original seat of the High Kings of Munster!), the Cashel Folk village, and lots of nice restaurants. Some fabulous places to stay include Bailey's hotel (https://www.baileyshotelcashel.com/) and the Cashel Palace (https://www.cashelpalacehotel.ie/) Both are good afternoon-tea spots too. 2. The Galtee Mountains or the Glen of Aherlow There are wonderful hikes and looped walks in this part of the country. We recommend using Alltrails or following @thehikelife on Instagram. Christine's favorite hikes are Galteemore (beware, this is a long hike), Moylussa, and Lough Muskry. If you would love to get some nature but less drama, the Glen of Aherlow and Bansha Woods are for you! This is a great guide https://www.instagram.com/stories/highlights/17936724583427523/?hl=en There is an entrance to the Bansha Woods Trail just 2 minutes from the entrance to Kilshane. 3. Golf There are a number of golf courses nearby. Ballykisteen http://ballykisteengolfclub.com/index.html Tipperary Golf Club https://www.tipperarygolfclub.com/ Adare Manor https://www.adaremanor.com/ 4. Kilshane itself The grounds are stunning and have lovely walks. They will also arrange clay pigeon shooting or archery on site. (Tel: +353851098934)
