Mother of the Bride
Elizabeth, aka Mini aka Mom aka Master Chef Mini is Christine’s day 1 and biological mother (still waiting for the maternity test). Everyone says Christine and her mom look exactly alike but they are so dramatically different. Christine’s mom believes in vegetables and Christine believes in veggie chips. Christine is pretty sure the reason she has any friends is because her friends are using her for her mom’s banging food. Though Christine and her mom are so different, Christine knows she has the most caring and understanding mother in the world. She is the master at planning all family events and will always be the jokester of the family. Christine isn’t ready to share her mom with Rajesh yet because that means one less burger for Christine. #CanRoastAChickenAndYourFriends
Mother of the Groom
Gracy (Aka Ma) is Rajesh's mother. Growing up a moma's boy, you never saw Rajesh's face because it was always hidden behind his mom. Gracy is the most caring person who will do anything in the world for her family and friends. She is also one of the best cooks and if you come into her home you can't leave without eating something. It will sound like she is yelling at you to eat but that is her way of showing love. She is very attentive to your eating habits. In her book, everyone is always starving and her goal in life is to feed you until you can't move. Christine might not be sharing her mom yet but she already took Rajesh's mom as they share recipes and they fight over who should keep all of Rajesh's architecture projects. (To be clear, neither of them want it).
Father of the Bride
Shaji, aka “DAD I WANT CHAIA”, is Christine’s Day 1 and only father. While her Dad and Christine look nothing like, they share all the same attributes- hunger, laughter, and an uncontrollable temper. Her dad was the first person to teach her how to cook; he taught her how to boil a hot dog. It only took 10 years to go from hot dogs to chicken tikka and beef curry. Her Dad is always the LIFE of the party with his dance moves! When Christine passed the bar exam, her dad said do better. When Christine told her dad about Rajesh, he said do better (JUST KIDDING). Actually, he gave her a standing ovation, as if she couldn’t get a man. While Rajesh might be the new man in Christine’s life she will always be #ShajisLittleCryBaby.
Father of the Groom
Jose (Aka Dad) (The Accountant) is Rajesh's Father. While he was the strict parent growing up, he has a soft spot for his kids and loves to joke around with them. Growing up, every April 1st he will come up with a way to get his kids with a lie. He lives his life like he never left India. He still bathes like he is in the river of Arekera (His hometown), eats every meal like its his last and works as hard as if he was back home in the farm helping his father. Jose taught Rajesh everything he needed growing up and continues to be there when his kids needs his advice or help.
Matron of Honor
Anjali, aka 5 Rats (malayalees you get me), is Christine’s one and only soulmate. Christine and Anjali met in high school when they were overcoming American History, acne, and awkward crushes on boys. Over the years, the acne faded but their relationship never did. They never learned American history but created their own. They still had crushes but on awkward boys. Over the years Anjali has been Christine’s most reliable confidant, her therapist, and stylist. Anjali is always the friend to go ABOVE AND BEYOND for you in every single way and Christine is so blessed to have the honor of calling her a best friend/sister. Rajesh is still trying to win over Christine’s heart as much as Anjali has. #5RatsAndKittyKuttyForever
Best Man
Kevin (Aka Kevina) is Rajesh's little brother. If you guys are interested to knowing where Kevina came from, get him a little tipsey and just ask him about the dresses. Growing up together, they loved getting into trouble, punching each other in the junk, and competing in games. Kevin loved playing and getting beat at basketball in their backyard. As of late he might have won a few games but his older brother still holds the record! Kevin has a knack of getting himself and everyone around him in trouble. Growing up, Rajesh's sole purpose was keeping Kevin from hurting himself. After a few stair falls, finger stuck in the van door, and a lot of head concussions, we can safely say Rajesh wasn't the best person to be in charge of him.
Maid of Honor
Raina, aka the most Ratchet Raju, is Christine’s long lost soul sister. Even Christine’s parents have tried to adopt her. Raina and Christine have known each other their whole lives but got closer when Raina realized Christine wasn't a total loser. When you look up a picture of ride or die in urban dictionary, you will see a photo of Raina with eggless cupcakes and a “why is Christine crying this time” care package. Raina has always gone above and beyond; she even drove 9 hours during nursing school just to see Christine's proposal. Christine was more excited to see Raina than to be engaged (#brosoverJose). Though they don't share the same parents, Raina has and always will be family to Christine. #RatchetRajuToRNRaju #LordHelpUsAll
Best Man
Aleks (Aka Chewy) and Rajesh met through the love of architecture at Temple University and unlike most best friends, this was not love at first sight. This was one of those friendships that needed to marinate a little before they could start cooking. But after having to live together, a lot of failed woman chasing, and cooking together as roommates, they became inseparable. They did almost everything from traveling, architectural competitions, and even relationship statuses together. If you want a good story of Rajesh, Aleks has them all. And if you just want a funny but long, dragged out, & unnecessarily detailed story of anything, Aleks has those too.
Bridesmaid
Kezia, (aka KUH-ZIA), is Christine’s sole girl cousin on her mother’s side. Growing up, Christine grew up with only boy cousins. She prayed for years that another girl cousin wouldn’t be born to steal her spotlight. On July 24, 2001, Christine’s worst nightmares came true- Kezia came and stole the show. But over the years Christine realized Kezia is just like one of the boys (just kidding). Kezia became a roast master, a dance floor master, and one of Christine’s closest cousins. Check out this girl in the middle of the dance floor during the reception! #KuhZiaSheOnFire
Groomsman
George (Aka Tobin) (Aka Papoogi) is the sister of the bride. Growing up together Tobin and Christine were were the opposite of every other siblings. They never fought. They respected and took care of each other through the good and bad. Tobin was the kind and protective brother, never was too fond of Rajesh. For the first 6 months he refused to remember his name. Rajesh was know as “your boy”, “kid” and “ma dude”. I think he might of been rooting for Rubin at heart. (Christines side ho that her parents tried to set her up with before they knew about the amazing Rajesh). But through a lot of persistent good food and love, Rajesh might of won him over.
Bridesmaid
Jasmine, aka Jasmine (got to respect her lol), is Rajesh’s older and only sister. The first time Christine met her, Christine had to pregame for an hour after hearing the horror stories Rajesh had told her. Turns out Christine was the girl to win over Jasmine’s heart (let's hope, she doesn't say differently). Over the years, they have bonded over good food, good drinks, and partners that won’t post them on social media. She has become the caring, understanding, and responsive sibling Christine never had #SorryTobin. #StillPregamesToMeetUpWitHer
Groomsman
Mathew (Aka Vinu) (Aka Vinny the poo) is the brother-in-law of the groom. Rajesh and him share the love of construction, drinking and grilling. If you are looking for a good piece of meat, look no further than Vinu. (Get your mind out of the gutter ladies, he is already taken). His house is hands down the best BBQ joint you will ever find in the tri-state region. Rajesh dog sits for Vinu and Jasmine for the sole purpose to raid their fridge of any smoked meat. When the two are out and about at a bar, Rajesh and Vinu love to go drink for drink to see who can outlast the other. No one ever wins this male ego driven comradely.
Bridesmaid
Bethsy, (aka Mama Jose), is one of Christine’s long term friends. When Christine and Bethsy were infants, their parents forced them to be friends. Now their parents have to force them apart. Over the years, Christine always strived to be as smart and as perfect as Bethsy. That day still has not come. Christine will always go to Bethsy to give her responsible advice and then ignore it completely and end up in trouble. They have become so close that they have even picked partners with the same last name #JoseSisterWives.
Groomsman
Henry (Aka Jay) (Ecuadorian Hamster) is one of the grooms oldest of friends. They go as far back as middle school. They both share the love of basketball, beer, rap & spicy food. At the end of a night out, they would flirt with the idea of cuddling up with different dishes. And if all failed, they knew they could always fall back on their respective favorites (Chimichurris from the Chimi truck, Kati rolls from Biriyani cart, extra wet buffalo wings from Candlelight or tacos from El Poblano). Both being fat-hearted, they make sure to never go home without filling up their bellies first. Henry will burn the calories off the next morning in a game of basketball. He will step onto any court in his vans and ball until the lights out.
Bridesmaid
Nina, aka Mrs. FlossAndGloss, is one of Christine’s long term friends. Ever since Christine started going to school, Nina followed in her foot steps. They went to the same middle school, high school, and college. Nina even moved out of state to be with Christine in DC. Honestly, going to the same school and church since they were little (they still are physically little) was a blessing. Christine always had a friend she could trust and a person she could party with. #FromCrownRoyaleToCleaningCrowns
Groomsman
Rainer (Aka Ray) (Dominican Guru) and Rajesh met in high school. When Rajesh met Rainer for the first time in Spanish class, he was smaller than Rajesh. Now he is almost double his size. This guy is constantly growing physically and mentally. He loves to learn and is always curious to try new things. Rainer is like an older brother to Rajesh and is always teaching the people around him everything he has learned. Rainer is loyal to his friends and family and will always have their back. One thing he hates to do is loose. One of the most competitive person I know so if you challenge him to a game, beware.
Bridesmaid
Monisha, aka MoMo, is Christine’s law school bestie and co counsel for life. Freshman year, they shared classes together, and Christine always thought that they would never ever be friends. They were placed on the same competition team and they slayed; winning a championship cup as 1Ls. They became so close judges thought they were the same person #brownpeopleproblems and couldn’t tell them apart. Despite crushing your soul in the courtroom, Monisha is one of the most caring humans in the world. Just don’t tell her about your criminal activities at the wedding. #PassedOutAtTheBarToPassedTheBar
Groomsman
David (Aka Portuguese Prince) and Rajesh grew up a few blocks from each other. David and him used to travel together to and from high school everyday. David was always a ladies man and taught Rajesh everything he needed to ultimately reel Christine in. The man loves to read and know everything about nothing. If you ever have a conversation with David, he will tell you random facts about everything from how your muscles and bones work to your own traditions and culture. The funny and dirty things you think only your dad knows from growing up in the country.
Bridesmaid
Jocelyn, aka first wife, has known Christine the longest but they only became best friends after college. Jocelyn is the girl Christine’s parents always told her to be like and still do (every. single. day.). But it completely makes sense why her parents said that-Jocelyn was there for Christine during the good and the really bad. The good was when she brought Popeyes when Christine’s leg was broken, the bad was Christine was highly allergic to Popeyes (#DontWorryTobinAteItAll). Jocelyn has been and will always be Christine's therapist, hype woman, and always down for happy hour buddy. #PopeyesToSisterWivesToCoronaBrides
Groomsman
Daniel (Aka Diva) and Rajesh went to architecture school together at Temple University. They share a love for design and construction. Dan's main goal in life is to buy all the houses in Jersey. He is half way there. He is always trying to get Rajesh to move to jersey and work for him at Valvano’s architecture firm. Rajesh is still waiting for a good offer from him. He has yet to see it. Dan is the handy man that knows how to build and fix anything you need. He's good with his hands and if you ask him about it, he will just say "thats what she said". This man turns every conversation into a joke and finds ways to make you laugh in every situation, good or bad.
