Brought together by similar interests, Noah and Christine initially met while both working at a fitness gym in Round Rock. Noah worked as a personal trainer and Christine, at the front desk. Connected by a mutual friend and coworker, the two began texting each other, which eventually led to more time spent together at work. Noah would hang out at the front desk for hours after his last client left the gym, just to spend time with her. She would plan her work outs at strategic times of the day, knowing he was scheduled to work. Feeling like they couldn't get enough time together at the gym during the day, Christine one day asked him, "Do you want to go on a run together tomorrow at 8am?" Noah was stunned, as he was not a runner, nor a morning person. But, he wanted to impress his new love interest, so he endured the early rise and two-mile run the next morning. During their walking breaks, they asked insightful questions to get to know each other better. Conversations ranged from the topics of school to family to hobbies. Following this first date, neither felt like it was near enough time spent with one another. So, they decided to continue to go on more dates.
Within the first few weeks of meeting, the pair quickly realized their mutual enjoyment for spending time outdoors. They planned a picnic date at Zilker Park in Austin to watch the sunset and enjoy the nighttime skyline together. During this date, they were able to connect with deeper conversations about life, religion, and aspirations for the future. Knowing they would spend quite some time out there, Noah brought his speaker to play background music. When "Tennessee Whiskey" by Chris Stapleton played, Christine's face lit up. She began telling Noah how much she loves his music, and that she's recently learned how to two-step while away at school in College Station. This was when Noah broke the news to her: he didn't know what two-stepping was. The following hour was spent with Christine (having two left feet of her own) doing her very best to teach Noah how to two-step. Between the softly serenading music of Chris Stapleton, our close embrace, and the romance of the nighttime skyline, how could they not fall in love?! The memory of this date has a very special place in their hearts. So much so that every year in July, they pack up the car with food, a picnic blanket, and a speaker to head over to Zilker Park to enjoy the sunset, nighttime skyline, and slow dance together.
For the majority of the next three years, Noah lived in Round Rock while Christine lived in College Station. Both in school, they continued to make the effort to see one another at least once every few weeks. During the summer months, she moved back to Round Rock and worked at the gym again, which gave them closer proximity to spend more time together. Throughout the years, they made core memories: Attending college football games, sharing hobbies, and traveling out of state to the mountains or the beach. They enjoyed their shared hobbies of spending time outdoors, working out, hiking, climbing, and most of all, eating! Over the years, they learned how to navigate life and a new relationship while living two hours away from each other. This, in turn, brought them even closer together.
The time came for Noah's master-plan of one year to come to fruition. The couple planned to visit his family in Fort Worth for family photos. This was inconspicuous, as they had joined them for photos in the past. This year's setting was the Fort Worth Botanic Garden for the photos. In the midst of taking photos, Noah turned Christine around, got down on one knee, and poured his heart out. Everyone around stopped in their tracks, in awe of witnessing a live proposal. One woman even shouted, "Say yes!" But they were so immersed in the moment with tunnel vision, that they were locked in on each other, and no one else around them. She, of course, said yes! They embraced with Noah's family and took many more photos. On the way back to the car, Noah leaned in and revealed the final surprise he had planned for Christine: her whole family traveled up to Fort Worth that day to celebrate their engagement.
In July of this year, Christine will embark on the journey of medical school in Houston, Texas to obtain her Doctorate of Medicine. Noah is in the process of finishing his schooling in Round Rock, Texas, after which he will obtain a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care in June 2025. Though their schools are more than three hours away from each other, they will live together in Houston starting in December of this year. They are so excited to see what the future holds as a married couple in a new city together!
