Mike and Christine went to the same elementary school, middle school, and high school, but didn't connect until after college. Christine remembers sitting next to Mike in high school English class and thought he was cute, but kept it to herself. After Christine finished college, she stayed at home for a year before medical school. It was then that she connected with Mike through some mutual friends. They hit it off and it was a whirlwind from there. Just five months after connecting, Christine left Mike behind to go to medical school in Kentucky. They kept their relationship going through phone calls, Skype, and by visiting each other at least once a month. It was an eight hour drive away with no airports nearby. After four years of school, Christine matched for residency at York, Pennsylvania, and they continued their long distance relationship. This time it was "only" a one hour travel time. Two years later and her residency program shut down, which left her scrambling for a place to go. Fate led them together, and she transferred to University of Maryland residency where they finally moved in together. Up to this point, they had been together for six years. Through their journey, they became closer than ever, and sealed the deal on their ten year anniversary trip in Paris. It was the last day of our two week trip, and the only thing we hadn't done yet was go to the top of the Eiffel Tower. At 10pm they got to the top of the tower, where Mike asked Christine to marry him. She said yes (and maybe "finally").
