FAQs

The Wedding Website of Christine Charitar and Logan Barnhart
Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Wedding Ceremony San Francisco City Hall The Wedding Ceremony will begin promptly at 12:00 PM. Please note that while formal seating on the Mayor's Balcony is limited to 40 guests, there is plenty of space to stand, and we would love for you to be there. If you don’t mind standing to witness our vows, please do attend! To enter City Hall, you will need to pass through a security checkpoint and a metal detector. To ensure everyone is settled before we begin, please arrive by 11:45 AM at the latest and avoid bringing unnecessary metal items. Post-Ceremony Social From 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, we will host a Post-Ceremony Social at a nearby bar. It’s a 6-8 minute walk from the ceremony, so comfortable shoes are encouraged! Look forward to delicious drinks and light bites. Please note that as this venue is a bar, the Social is limited to guests aged 21 and over. Evening Reception Cocktail Hour will begin at 5:30 PM at the Westin St. Francis, St. Francis Heights, featuring drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Dinner, dancing, and celebrations will follow at the Reception through midnight.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Afternoon Ceremony: We kindly request semi-formal or cocktail attire. Evening Reception: Formal attire is requested. We encourage guests to embrace the beauty of a "starry night" by wearing shades of deep blue, midnight black, dark burgundy, or emerald green. Gentlemen are invited to wear dark suits with conservative ties. Please note: Feel free to wear one formal look for the entire day; there is no need for an outfit change between the ceremony and reception if that isn't preferred! For the gentlemen, a dark suit jacket and tie are requested for both events.

Question

Is there a gap between the afternoon social and the evening reception?

Answer

Yes, there is a short 2.5-hour gap between our Post-Ceremony Social at ANINA and the start of Cocktail Hour at the Westin St. Francis. This is the perfect time to check into your hotel, freshen up, relax, or explore Union Square before the evening festivities begin!

Question

Where should I book my stay?

Answer

We recommend booking accommodations at The Westin St. Francis San Francisco on Union Square. This hotel will serve as the central hub for our wedding day and offers the most convenient access to our evening reception. There are, however, numerous other great options less than a five-minute walk away, including Hotel G, Hotel Zeppelin, Hotel Nikko and many others.

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

For our afternoon ceremony, public parking is available at the Civic Center Plaza Garage (355 McAllister St), located directly across from City Hall. For the evening reception, The Westin St. Francis provides valet parking at the 335 Geary Street entrance. For guests preferring to self-park, there are several nearby garages within walking distance, including the Mason/O’Farrell Garage (325 Mason St), the Sutter/Stockton Garage (331 Sutter St), and the Ellis/O’Farrell Garage (123 O’Farrell St). Please note: Because parking in the city can be difficult and venues are spread out, we highly recommend utilizing rideshares like Uber or Lyft to travel between events for a seamless, stress-free day!

Question

What is the weather like in San Francisco?

Answer

While it is July in California, San Francisco is famous for its brisk coastal fog and chilly afternoon breezes! Temperatures typically hover in the low 60s, so we highly recommend bringing a jacket, coat, or wrap to stay comfortable during the day.

Question

Can I bring my adult children or extra family members?

Answer

Due to space limitations at our venue, we are unable to extend invitations beyond those named on the envelope. We wish we could have everyone there, but we appreciate you honoring our guest count and understanding our space constraints.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

While we love your children, we have decided to have an Adults-Only event. We hope this allows all of our guests to enjoy an evening of celebration!
