Julian and Christine's journey together started at UNC on January 12th, 2012. They met at a party, where they ended up dancing together. According to Julian, Christine insisted he add her on Facebook. Christine remembers it differently. Either way, Julian didn’t waste any time, he sent her a message the very next morning. As Avril Lavigne would say: He was a punk, she did ballet, what more can I say? At first, Christine wasn't convinced Julian was anything more than a charming guy she met at a party, and she held him squarely in the friend zone. Julian, ever the strategist, patiently persisted, often asking if she'd like to go hiking, running, or "throw a friz." Christine, completely oblivious that "friz" meant frisbee, or that she was being cleverly courted, frequently turned down his invitations. As time went on, they started spending more time together, even collaborating on a school project where Christine helped Julian record students making Chewbacca noises. Yes, that really happened! Julian's quick wit, charm, and subtle courtship gradually wore down Christine's guard. The pivotal moment came when he was talking to another girl on a night out. This (un)expectedly sparked a jealous reaction in Christine, and in that instant, she realized she had indeed fallen for him. Their first unofficial date was a trip to Southpoint Mall to see the newly released Avengers. True to form, Julian lost his movie ticket. Instead of panicking, he smoothly convinced Christine to hold hands and pretend they were a couple, charming their way back in without buying another ticket. The rest, as they say, is history. A history that has taken on a journey through numerous cities and states. Over the past 13 years, they've called many places home: Chapel Hill, NC, Norfolk, VA, Charlottesville, VA, Atlanta, GA, Waltham, MA, Austin, TX, Mountain View, CA and Wellington, FL
