Both the ceremony and reception will take place at the same venue, Sunset Lakes Community Center. An usher will escort you to the ceremony hall, and again as the reception starts once the cocktail hour is over. PLEASE BE ON TIME AND ARRIVE AT 4:00p. Once the ceremony starts and the processional begins, you will NOT be allowed inside.
There will be a variety of hors d'oeuvres being passed around during cocktail hour to get everyone warmed up for the evening. For dinner, we’re excited to share a special family tradition! The groom’s family is cooking delicious Haitian food, as they always do for big celebrations. Dinner will be served buffet style, offering a variety of options for everyone to enjoy. For starters, there will be seafood salad and macaroni salad. The main course proteins include griot (fried pork), tasso turkey (fried turkey), and poul en sauce (chicken in sauce). Sides will include diri kole (rice and beans), macaroni au gratin (Haitian-style mac and cheese), and steamed vegetables. We can’t wait for you to enjoy this special meal with us!
Yes! There will be an open bar and bartender during the entire duration of the reception, please drink, let loose and have a good time, this is a celebration!
We request that all guests refrain from wearing any shade of blue and pink; women, please refrain from wearing any and all shades of white and ivory to respect the bride. This is a formal event, dress to impress. No shorts, jeans, or t- shirts. But we do suggest you bring dancing shoes for the reception.
While we accept, appreciate and WILL receive gifts of any kinds, we would most appreciate that all gifts be sent via the wedding registry which you will find on the "Registry" tab of this website. In addition to that, there will be a cash box on the welcome table the day of the wedding should you wish to bless us in that regard.
This is our special day and we'd like to fully immerse ourselves in it. That being said, PLEASE REFRAIN FROM CALLING THE BRIDE AND GROOM ON THE DAY OF THE WEDDING. For any questions, comments, or concerns you may have on that day, feel free to call the matron of honor, Esther Berrouret at (561)860-3998, or the Best Man, Juner Etienne at (786)564-8065.
THIS IS AN UNPLUGGED CEREMONY. While we love that you want to capture our special moments, we kindly request that all phones be silenced and put away during the ceremony to allow everyone to be fully present and immersed in the experience. Our professional photographers will be capturing all the highlights. Once the officiant announces us as man and wife, you are free to take all the pictures and videos you like.
