You are the best thing

It started with a simple swipe right on Bumble — two strangers taking a chance at the exact same moment. On October 2nd, 2023, they met at the bar 'Down The Street' for their first date, not knowing a casual weeknight drink would become the beginning of forever. Their second date wouldn’t come until a month later, as they were each off on adventures of their own — but they knew it was something special. On January 7th, 2024, Jake asked Christine to be his girlfriend, turning that date into a milestone they would celebrate month after month with a quick stop at the first place they met — a tradition that quickly became theirs. The first 'I love you's' followed soon after. In the two years since, life together has been a nonstop, epic adventure. They’ve chased live music in Nashville, soaked up desert sunsets while overlanding in Phoenix, explored the wild beauty while RV'ing across Montana, crossed the ocean to the Azores, ate lobster in Maine, and made memories in Oklahoma, California and Florida — all while road-tripping and wandering across Texas along the way. In the midst of it all, Jake moved in and became the very best dog dad, foster dad, and animal‑rescue partner — opening their home and hearts to the many rescues that have circulated through, turning their house into a place of love, healing, and wagging tails. Then, exactly two years later, Jake brought their story full circle. He surprised Christine with a proposal in the very place they first met, surrounded by friends and family. Through every mile traveled and every 7th of the month celebrated, their greatest adventure has been choosing each other — and now they can’t wait to say “I do” with all of you.
