We can thank one of our mutual friends', Shannon Hughes, for connecting Daniel and I. As most of you know, one of Daniel's interests are motorcycles. He had his circle of friends that would get together to ride and Shannon was apart of that group. At the time, Shannon and I also worked together at Palm Beach Tan. Shannon showed Daniel a picture of myself and gave him my number. The relationship then took off from there. Daniel and I met each other at a very pivotal moment in each others lives. We both had a lot going on in our personal lives that really resonated with one another and allowed us both to have an outlet from reality.
I always thought A. This day will never come and B. He'll never be able to surprise me because I will figure it out. Well the day did come and I was completely surprised. Daniel called to make sure that my parents would be home and told them he was stopping by. He went over to my parents house to ask for my hand in marriage. Daniel mentioned after, that he was very nervous. Leave it up to my mother to tell Daniel "I figured you either wanted to keep her or give her back!" A few weeks later, after my graduation from nursing school, myself and 9 of our closest family members gathered for a dinner to celebrate the graduation at Market Street Grill in Harrison, Ohio. After we all ordered our meals, Daniel took the boys to the bathroom and returned to the table on one knee with the boys beside him. I don't remember him saying much as we both just held back tears. It was the perfect surprise. The perfect way to end one chapter of our lives and enter into a new one.
As you all know, Daniel and I are a family of 4. We have Alexander and Maximus to keep us on our toes. They are the apple of our eye and to many of you as well. Though our story doesn't have a customary timeline, we have always made it work for us. We are going to cherish these moments even more because our son's will now be able to witness and feel all the love we have for one another. Not just as a couple, but as a family. While Xander is excited for his song requests on the music playlist, Max is excited for his tux and my "beautiful dress." Max also knows every word of Daniel and I’s first dance song! We cannot explain how happy we are to share these moments with all of you.
