A friend gave Brice two tickets to see Shakespeare's "The Merchant of Venice", at the Rose Theater in the Lincoln Center in Manhattan. Unbeknownst to Brice, Christine is a Musical Theatre Actor and jumped at the opportunity. Worst case, she would get to see a good show for free! Christine arrived a few minutes late with the most beautiful floral summer dress and Brice was 15 minutes early to the 15 minutes early with some salmon shorts, apropos for Summer 2016. They hit it off, instantly engaging and comfortable with each other. The show flew by, they lingered at a nearby diner and walked through Central Park. The date extended for hours beyond what they would have imagined and they couldn't wait to see each other again!
It's amazing what you can pack into five years time... Brice was just starting his career on Wall Street, living in a small apartment in Crown Heights, Brooklyn with four women and Christine was a budding performer living on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. With some early successes they moved in together into an iconic doorman building on the Upper East Side called the Gracie Mews. They relished summer afternoons on the rooftop by the pool and warm conversations with doormen Mike and Frank. After things took a hard turn when Brice was unexpectedly let go from his job, these two made it through everything, landing in a simple pre war walk-up apartment a few blocks away. They even learned how to share one tiny closet. They spent every day in Central Park... commuting, exercising, and visiting the farmers market. When Brice's company asked them to move to Nashville, TN, they took a leap of faith and went for it; eventually buying their home in Brentwood, TN. They have always been willing to take risk together and go on a great adventure together. Life in Tennessee has become so much more than they could have imagined with great success and happiness in both of their lives. They live with their lion-hearted puppy, Grant and their cat Basil (the former Queen of the Upper East Side). They firmly believe that love is simple. It's showing up for each other and communicating openly about everything, especially when it's difficult. The rest simply doesn't matter as much when you have each other to get through it all.
