Adam's Perspective

I first met Christine when I went with my best man (and roommate) Dalton to Continental Ski & Bike to get fitted for ski boots in 2022. The first real conversation we had together though was at the VFW in west Duluth in summer of 2023, where we first got to know each other. I have a feeling this conversation is what started her pursuit for me! In September of 2023, I was planning a trip to Eagle mountain with Dalton, which he invited Christine on as well. Over the course of the day, we got to know each other very well, and we were sharing some of our favorite music with each other on the car ride. I didn’t know at the time that she was interested in me, but I started to get the butterflies a little bit after this day thinking about her. Over the following few weeks, she happened to be coming to all the group activities I was at, and we would interact with each other frequently. I had an apostle islands camping trip planned with the group, which I invited her to come with as well. After spending that whole weekend with each other, I finally started to get the idea that she was interested in me. The next time we were at a group gathering, I set up a test to test my theory. We were having another group meal and the living room was crowded with a large table set in the middle. I put myself in the most difficult place to get to to see if she would try to sit my me. Sure enough she did, and then I asked her out on a date to the Porcupine Mountains a few days later!

Christine's Perspective

Adam and I met through our group of mutual friends. Adam was roommates with two of my good friends, Dalton & Dean, from UMD Bulldog Catholic. I started showing up to group get-togethers over the spring & summer of 2023, due to the continual and relentless invites from friends. At these gatherings, I was noticing Adam's adventurous, nerdy, and goofy qualities... all things that drew my attention almost instantly :) As we both continued to attend friend group activities, we started getting to know each other more and more through an array of fun activities and good and/or random conversations. Fall 2023 came along and, to my secret joy, we went on several small group adventures where I was able to spend more time purposefully being as close to Adam as possible... without being too weird ;) These included stormy wave watching at Park Point, sailing on the Lake Superior bay, a hiking day trip up the North Shore, a camping trip in the Apostle Islands in Bayfield with several of our buddies, and group meals at 'the Garden Street house' (Adam, Dalton, and Dean's rental house). During our adventures, I did my best to make it known to Adam I was interested... he didn't catch on very quickly (...I'm no good at flirting). But eventually, a few days after our camping trip to the Apostle Islands, Adam asked me to join him on a day trip to the Porcupine Mountains as a date!! FINALLY he got the hint!! On Saturday, October 14th we had our first date, hiking in the autumn trees of the Porcupine Mountains. The date went perfectly - better than I could have ever imagined a date could go! We started officially dating a week later on October 22nd, 2023. It's been such an amazing adventure learning about each other and growing together in our relationship, as well as helping each other grow as individuals. We are so blessed!! We are incredibly grateful and so excited to have you join us in celebrating our marriage!
