Our beginning

Thank you, Kait!

It all started Saturday, December 1st, 2018: Troy, enjoying a nice winter's day at home, is preparing for the evening's activities: pizza at a friend's apartment, a few drinks, a couple of bar games, and a night out on the town in Morristown. However, this isn't just any ordinary night, no no, on this night Christina (McBabe), whom Troy has heard so many great things about from his sister Kait Sleight, may be making an appearance... Cut to Christina: After a long journey back from TEDWomen in Palm Springs, the wheels touch down at Newark Airport on that fateful eve. Christina takes her phone off airplane mode to see, among her texts, one from Kait Sleight, inviting her to join for drinks in Morristown. Jet lagged, hungry, but never one to turn down an opportunity to socialize with friends, Christina replies with a, "Hmm... I just might be down for that." The Uber drops her off in the rain -- a quick run inside, a bite to eat, she throws her hair in a ponytail and hops into her Subaru. Destination: South Street Social. She was none the wiser to the plans that would unfold that evening... Standing at a table near the bar, Troy is enjoying his beverage, chatting with friends, waiting with much anticipation for Christina's arrival. Enter Christina. Troy stops speaking mid-sentence, his eyes light up, his heart fills with joy and his focus solely fixed on Christina's entrance. Christina says a friendly, "Hello!" to those she was familiar with and a, "Nice to meet you!" to those she was not, pausing on Troy as Kait introduces him as "my brother." Throughout the evening, Christina and Troy keep finding each other, exchanging their hobbies and interests, discovering commonalities in travel, music, and the outdoors. This was the start of something really great. Over the next few weeks, through constant text messages and meet ups, Christina and Troy were setting the foundation for a relationship that would last a lifetime.
