How We Met

When you know, you know...ya know?

Through her eyes: We knew of each other when we both were working as RA's at Boise State. Our paths hadn't crossed until my good friend Janice introduced us. Theo and his friend Ian had invited us to float the river. I was excited to hangout with Theo because I did think he was pretty cute. As we floated, Theo had tied my raft to his and through the midst of conversation he called me Veronica. I was shocked!!! I shot back with a sassy "My names Christin" and we all died laughing. He apologized profusely and now it has become an ongoing joke with him and my friends. Although he had made a mistake calling me by another name, I was so surprised that we had so many of the same interests and morals. I barely knew him at the time, but it felt like I had known him for years. His ability to make me feel special every time I was around him made me fall so quickly in love. Needless to say, he has been forgiven. Through his eyes: It was the summer of 2015 during RA Training. I volunteered to participate in a group activity, just so I could partner up with Christin and get to know her. Our mutual friend Janice helped me finagle that maneuver. After chatting with Christin, I came up with what at the time seemed like an ingenious plan to create a group text with Janice, and get Christins number. So I did exactly that, and had Janice add Christin to the group chat. Except...when she added Christin, there was no name with the number *(Facepalm) Eventually, we planned to float the river, and Christin and I spent the entire time talking and getting to know each other. The awkward aspect of not remembering her name did come up. To say I was embarrassed would be an understatement. Definitely, not my best moment..but a moment to remember nonetheless. Not long after that, I was lucky enough to take her out to supper, and the rest was history. As you can tell, I can be forgetful. However, everyday being with Christin reminds me how lucky I am and what falling in love feels like.
