Palm Springs is the closest airport to Joshua Tree, about 45 minutes away. This is the best option to fly into to avoid LA traffic, especially if arriving Friday or Saturday.

Slightly farther away, but more flight options. 1.5 hours from Joshua Tree. LAX, Burbank and Long Beach are also options, about 2-3 hours away without traffic. Expect some unaccustomed delays as you approach Palm Springs due to the Coachella festival. Rage Against the Machine headlines Friday night.
