Short answer - we love it there! As Wes once described her - Christina is "very garlicky." After spending a year living in Italy, and having many happy returns, Christina has dragged Wes to Italy several times. Despite Wes occasionally suggesting we maybe explore somewhere else on the planet, we always have the best time. We love Italy, and we know you will too. We've attended 37590 weddings together over the years, we've considered all the options stateside, and Italy is just what felt right to us. After we toured Fattoria Mansi Bernardini, we sat down and said "this just feels like us." Martina served us a tasting of our potential wedding menu, and 2 big jugs of wine, we blew off all the rest of our venue tours and were ready to commit. We hope you'll be able to take this opportunity to explore the country we have so many amazing memories in, and make some of your own.
We know that traveling to Italy is a big commitment, and we know it will not fit into everyone's schedules. We ask that you please RSVP as early as possible, but no later than March 1st, 2026. Whether you are packing your bags and booking your flights, or already know you are not able to attend, for any reason, we ask that you tell us as soon as possible. This will help us with planning and having the extra planning time would be greatly appreciated.
We hope that you will make our wedding into a vacation - and if that means bringing your kids, that is great! We will have a babysitter available to keep an eye on the kids during the reception, and ensure parents will be able to relax and enjoy! Please let us know in advance if you are planning to bring kids; most rooms only sleep 2 guests, and we will need to arrange for an alternate sleeping solution.
The closest airport to FMB is Florence Airport (Amerigo Vespucci). It is ~1 hour drive from FMB. There are many options for where to fly into, depending on how you want to plan your trip. If you are planning a vacation throughout Italy, you may want to fly into Rome, Milan, or Venice and then take a high speed train to Florence. The most affordable flights can typically be found from JFK or EWR, direct to Rome or Milan. We have also had good luck flying to Florence from EWR, but there are no direct flights and you will need to have a layover somewhere in Europe.
We highly recommend staying at Fattoria Mansi Bernardini - all rooms are reserved for our wedding party, and all meals and wedding events will take place on site. The venue is beautiful with lots to do and explore!
FMB will do their best to have our rooms ready as early as possible, but they cannot confirm check in until 3pm on June 2nd. For those that would like to arrive at the property earlier, you are welcome to drop your bags and enjoy the outdoor areas, such as the pool, garden, and tennis courts.
We wish we could stay at FMB forever - but unfortunately rooms are only available from June 2-4. All guests will need to check out on June 4. We plan to head to the city of Lucca and spend another night in the area, and will be organizing some optional events for those that would like to join us.
Trust us on this - you will want to. Fattoria Mansi Bernardini is one of the most picturesque locations we could imagine. The grounds are gorgeous and there are many activities to do on the property. We have exclusive use of the property, and we want to spend as much time with all of you as possible! All wedding events and meals will be held on site. If you do not want to stay here - that is totally fine! There are alternate options in the town of Lucca (approximately 15-20 minutes away). Please remember that we are in the Tuscan countryside. Uber does not exist here, and taxis will be difficult and expensive, especially in the late hours after the reception. You should organize your travel to and from your hotel in advance, if you choose to not stay on the property.
Parking is available at Fattoria Mansi Bernardini - you will be able to walk to all events once you're checked in for your stay!
You should explore Italy! June is one of the most beautiful months to enjoy the beaches, cities, or mountains of Italy. After the wedding, Christina and Wes will be arranging for some optional events in the town of Lucca for those who want to spend more time together - think walking tour, wine tasting, cooking class, etc. If you're just not ready for the celebration to end, we'd love for you to spend another night in the town of Lucca, and can recommend some hotels and Airbnbs for you to book. More details to follow. For those of you looking to continue on with your vacation, Christina and Wes have spent a lot of time exploring Italy, and we have tons of suggestions! Let us know what you're thinking and we are happy to help.
