Hello everyone! We are so excited to celebrate our wedding with you and are incredibly grateful that you will be joining us. Since many of our you may not have attended an Orthodox wedding before, we wanted to share a few small notes to help everyone feel comfortable and prepared. The wedding ceremony will begin promptly, so we kindly ask guests to arrive by 2:30 PM for seating. Orthodox weddings are very reverent and prayerful services held inside the church. Out of respect we ask that guests please avoid chewing gum, keep conversations quiet once inside the church, and refrain from crossing legs during the service if possible, as this is traditionally considered a posture of attentiveness and respect. We are so excited to celebrate with you all!

Wedding Ceremony Our Orthodox Christian wedding ceremony consists of two parts: the Betrothal and the Crowning, lasting approximately 45–60 minutes. **The Betrothal** Near the church entrance, we'll receive a blessing and exchange rings, symbolizing commitment and faithfulness. **The Crowning** At the altar, crowns will be placed on our heads, symbolizing honor, unity, and the sacred responsibility of marriage. Rather than personal vows, this tradition emphasizes God's blessing of our union. **Scripture, Prayers & Rituals** Throughout the service, Scripture will be read and prayers offered for God's blessing and guidance. We'll share a cup of wine, representing our shared life together in joy and challenge. We'll then process around the altar three times, symbolizing our first steps together as a married couple. **For Our Guests** Please feel free to stand throughout the service or sit as needed. The ceremony concludes with final blessings as we're presented as married.
