It was our annual family Thanksgiving dinner at our house. I had been cooking since 5am that morning. As the afternoon goes on, our family and friends start trickling through the door hugging, greeting and catching up on each other's lives. Then, we get the table set, the drinks are poured, and my mother, sister and best friend help me to present the many dishes of our meal. Shaw begins his speech for our traditional "what are you thankful for" around the table and has the kids begin so he ends up last. He is thankful for us, the girls, our family and friends and then...boom! He drops to one knee and pops the question in front of everyone! Now my favorite holiday has even more meaning to our lives than before! And now we cannot wait to share our special day with everyone!
