Thank you for visiting. We are thrilled to be taking this next step in our journey together. Even though we will be having a small ceremony it was important that we share our experience with friends and family who are near and far. Our ceremony will be on Facebook live and we plan on having a reception at a later date when we know more people will be able to make the journey to KC. Personally, we thank you all for your support and love, not only now but throughout the years.
It was a Friday night and we had gone out for drinks with a mutual friend, Shannon, and we had decided to meet up with her at different times. Sean didn't show up until after 9 and Christina was getting ready to go. However, Shannon insisted that we meet and so we did. There was no expectation and certainly no interest in dating from either of us but as we were talking we realized that we had a lot in common and because of that we were drawn to each other. As the night progressed we learned more and more about each other and we drew closer and closer. We spent that entire first weekend together and haven't been without each other since. We were drawn to each other because of our interests and similar outlooks on life not to mention our crazy sense of humor. We learned that we truly enjoy one another.
It wasn't long after that we decided to take a pretty big step and move in together. We knew that it would seem pretty crazy to many of our friends but we were confident that this was a positive step for each of us. Christina moved in with Sean and made his place into a home taking the bare walls and bringing life to them. It was an adjustment, especially for Sean, but we haven't turned back and haven't regretted any of it. When you know you have met the right person you just know and you don't want to waste another minute.
We had talked about spending our life together for several weeks and knew that marriage was the next step that we both wanted to take. We looked at rings and was imagining what kind of ceremony we would do, where and who we would invite. Christina knew that I was going to propose but had no idea when. I had done the customary things like talked to her Mom and Dad and got their blessings. I decided that I wanted this to be very special and unique so I talked to one of my best friends, Adam, who is in a band. I thought it would be awesome to attend one of their shows and have the band dedicate a song to us. The band agreed and so that night I took Christina to the museum, then we went to the place where we first met and After that, We made it to the bar where the band was playing. I had invited her friends, my friends, and even set it up so we would facebook live it so her family in other states could share this moment with her. As we walked in I had excuses and reasons as to why each person was there and I was pretty sure she would see through all that but somehow it all worked out and she didn't suspect anything (even though I think she knew). As the moment was getting closer I was getting super nervous and somewhat emotional. Adam dedicated the song to us and then we started dancing. At this point, I am positive that she knew. I had another one of my best friends, Russell, recording it and all our friends and family had their eyes on us. I couldn't take my eyes off her and that gorgeous smile of hers. As the song ended I leaned in and said, Christina Nicole Rash (I refused to use her ex's last name) I love you, I got down on one knee, pulled out the ring and asked her to marry me. I will never forget how excited she was, she sat on my lap and wouldn't let me go. Then we stood up together and she slipped that ring on. She said YES!! The rest of the night is a blur but I am pretty sure that night was just about as perfect as any night I could ever imagine.
