☀︎ If you ask Scottie: (The short version) It all started in February of 2016, when Christina and Scottie ran into each other for the first time, after many years. They decided to exchange numbers and catch up with one another. During their reconnection, Scottie told Christina how she reminded him of Marisa Tomei, from the movie "My Cousin Vinny". This is Christina's favorite movie, so she loved it when Scottie mentioned this to her. That's how it all started, a simple compliment, which later blossomed into a 9 year long relationship filled with laughter, love and beautiful memories that shaped them into their strength as a couple today. If you ask Christina: (The long version) Flashback to February of 2016, when Christina and Scottie ran into each other and decided to reconnect. Scottie asked her to go on a double date to the Chicago Auto Show, to which she said, yes. Now this is where it gets funny so buckle up... Christina does not take naps during the day but for whatever reason she decided to take a mid-morning nap before Scottie's arrival. Boy, was this a mistake, she woke up to a few missed calls from Scottie saying he was outside waiting for her. He was confused, did she not want to go on the date? She raced out of bed and flew into to the bathroom to get ready. Christina was beyond frantic because while she was playing sleeping beauty, he had already been waiting for about 15 minutes, until she answered her phone. He patiently waited for her and they went on to the auto show. Upon their arrival, Christina turns to Scottie and says "I'm a fast walker" and he turns to her and says "I knew you were one of the good ones". They linked arms and the rest is history! What happened to the other couple they went on the double date with, you might be asking? Well, their purpose was to capture Christina and Scottie's first date photograph (see below). Christina and Scottie's relationship began by going on vacations together, getting their first apartment and eventually got a dog, Presley, who they love so much! They took their time to get engaged but 'time', is what makes their relationship and story so unique. When Scottie first asked Christina on a date, she took her time getting ready (in other words she was late to the date). When they talked about the possibilities of getting married, they both took their time by working through all aspects of life together. They are the perfect definition of the saying: "Your bond is a testament to enduring love". Florida holds a special place in their hearts -- it's where Christina and Scottie shared many of their first vacations, as a newly formed couple, creating memories that laid the foundation for their life together. That's why they chose Boca Raton, Florida for their destination wedding: a place filled with sunshine, laughter and the wonder of new beginnings. Now, surrounded by the sparkling shores of Boca, they're ready to say "I Do" and start the next chapter of their lives together.
