Our love story began at House 2, we worked at a group home serving at risk youth. I went to H2, the house he worked at to cover a shift. We worked side by side for a day, he was so quiet and hard to read. He was in his final year at San Jose State. Days went by, another co-worker who he went to school with talked too much & ended up playing match maker. We exchanged numbers through her. What started off as random texts led to days then weeks of countless texts.I shared with him that I was in Recovery and almost had a year sober (1/29) I did not know this man would make the decision to stop drinking as well, his words "I don't want to be the reason you relapse". How did I get so lucky? About two months later we went on our first date to Christmas in the Park. How do you live in San Jose & you've never bought a snowman hot chocolate?!?!?! My mission was to share my family tradition & get him some hot chocolate. (This is the first time I would go without my kids) We had plans to go to Burrito Factory before heading downtown, he flaked just hours before. I went alone & had a great meal, somehow he convinced me to still go to Christmas in the Park. We bought our Snowmen & walked to see the trees. We were forced to leave our adventure quickly due to spotting our kiddos from work, we did not want to be seen together. As we rushed to the car I bumped into someone, as I looked up to say i'm sorry I realized it was my kids. GOD KNEW! We went to Chachos because he wanted to eat, I ate salsa and chips while I watched the Warriors on the big screens. Just two weeks later he asked me to be his girlfriend, 1/13/16. I asked him to be SURE he was ready for everything that came with me.... HE WAS SURE! We celebrated my first recovery birthday in Reno with our kids. It wasn't long before we fell head over heels for one another, we became inseparable. Our first year together was all fun, games & magic. Christmas Day we discovered we were pregnant! We were blessed with Baby J, GODS plan. We quickly became a blended family. We moved into our own apartment together and have been together ever since. Sal has been my biggest supporter & cheerleader. With love and grace he agreed with my decision to go back to school when Baby J was just a month old. He has been my partner and the MVP on our team, he continues to show up for our children when I'm not able to.... Fast forward, Look at us NOW, 8 1/2 years later with matching Crocs and Disney buttons! Together we have grown mentally & spiritually. WE have built a family that we are proud of and stayed by each others side through every storm we have encountered along the way. Life is so much better with him by my side, I couldn't imagine life any other way. SOOOO i'm making it official! It's a blessing and honor to start my newest chapter as MRS. GUERRERO!
