Shortly after I took a leap of faith and left my hometown in New Jersey to live with him in Italy, Matteo popped the question very causally at dinner after one of his basketball games. He asked “what day is Easter?” I responded “sometime in April.” Matteo said, “do you want to marry me then?” After a flood of tears I agreed. Matteo followed up on his proposal on February 8, 2020, and surprised me with a beautiful engagement ring. After spending quarantine together, we had no doubt our love was built to last and could withstand any trial or tribulation. We were so grateful to have our first wedding with his side (my new) family and friends on June 3 2020. It was such an emotional day that we both will never forget. We are thrilled to be able to continue the celebration and have our second wedding with my (his new) family and friends on February 28 2021! Our story continues to write itself every day, and we are beyond blessed and thankful to have found each other.
