Malik was the first person Christina met after her 2 week long hotel quarantine when in Sydney for ILM's VFX crew on "Thor Love and Thunder" in November 2020. Malik was the Motion Capture Supervisor and Christina the Producer on the crew. Malik played Sydney Tour Guide for 2 weeks and in return got a 1:1 freediving course from Christina one of the first weekends there. It was pretty quickly that they ended up spending all their time together both at work and otherwise, often heading to the ocean for a dive if they got out early or on weekends at the beach. In June 2021 Christina and Mal moved to Redondo Beach together and adopted their 2 rascal kittens, Hades and Hermes. They have been continuing their adventures since moving to Seattle in 2024 and are actually already officially husband and wife after holding a ceremony with their families in Sydney this past October!
