Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

There is no arranged transportation between the hotel and the venue. The Residence Inn Durham/McPherson is a 3 minute (0.6 mile) drive / 13 minute walk to the wedding venue. We recommend using Lyft/Uber for a quick drive, but April weather in Durham is also beautiful!

What does parking at Durham Arts Council look like?

Answer

The closest parking deck to Durham Arts Council is at 300 W Morgan St, Durham, NC 27701, and parking on the weekends are free! Be Advised: Weekend Special Event parking rates are in effect anytime there is an event at a downtown venue or during any other major downtown event. The event rate at all downtown parking garages is $7. We don't anticipate that there will be a major event on Saturday, April 26th, but just an advisory!

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Our ceremony starts promptly at 3:00PM on Saturday, so please make arrangements to arrive between 30 and 45 minutes early (between 2:15PM and 2:30PM) to make sure everyone is seated on time.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes! The dress code of our wedding is Semi-Formal. Below are a few guidances and suggestions: Encouraged: Suits/Dress Suits (Suspenders, too!) Knee-Length and/or Midi Dresses Blazers with Dress Pants and a Button-Down Dress Shirt Blouses and Skirts Dressy Jumpsuits Tie and/or Bow-Ties Jackets/Shawls Dress Shoes (Loafers, Heels, Oxfords, Stylish Flats, Dressy Sandals) Not Permitted: Denim Jeans, Sneakers (Lexi will be wearing sneakers, but only for her arthritis) Causal T-Shirts, Polo Shirts, Khaki Pants, Flip-Flops, Cargo Pants, Feel free to reach out to Lexi if you have any questions!

When will there be food?

Answer

In addition to our dinner after the reception, there will be a cocktail hour directly after the ceremony. We will be releasing what the cocktail hour's light bites and drink options are soon!

Do kids need to order a child’s meal?

Answer

No. If children want chicken or salmon and rice, they can select an entree. The child’s meal will likely be chicken nuggets or macaroni and cheese. Include suggestions if your child is particular.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to capacity constraints, we are unable to accommodate additional guests. Only those specified on the invitation will be accommodated.

What if I can't make it?

Answer

We understand!! Please contact whomever invited you (either Christina or Lexi) and they'll update your RSVP. If you've already booked a hotel in the hotel block, also let them know as well.
