FAQs

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please arrive 30-mins prior to the start of the ceremony, which is scheduled to begin at 4pm. NYC travel can be unpredictable, so we recommend you plan to arrive early. We will have champagne ready for you at 3:30! The church has a beautiful fenced-in garden that you can relax in once you get here, it's truly an oasis in the city.

Question

Is there a shuttle service?

Answer

All of our wedding sites are conveniently located within walking distance. It's a 1-minute walk (350 ft) from the church to the reception venue, and then a 2-minute walk (450 ft) from the reception to the hotel.

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

Recommended option: We recommend the garage at 10 E 29th street. This is a covered garage. It’s a 3-minute walk from the hotel and even closer to the venues. https://spothero.com/search?kind=address&latitude=40.7447841&longitude=-73.98617399999999&search_string=10%20East%2029th%20Street%2C%20New%20York%2C%20NY%2C%20USA&spot-id=13462 Discounted option: If you plan to stay in our hotel block, the Ace Hotel is affiliated with a nearby parking garage, with a discounted rate for hotel guests - $59 overnight for car ($65 SUV, $75 max SUV/van). It is not valet; self-service park at SP+, address: 7 W 28th St between Broadway & 5th Ave. Parking ticket will be validated and fees posted to your guest room folio. This is open-air parking (car is lifted onto a fork and raised into the air), not covered. Alternatively, the hotel is an 8-minute walk from Penn Station if you choose to take a train.

Question

Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

If you fly into Newark (EWR), you can take the AirTrain ($15.25) from the airport to Penn Station, and walk to the hotel from there. Alternatively, you can fly into JFK or LaGuardia, and take a car from there. Lyft tends to have better prices than Uber in NYC and yellow taxi cabs usually cost the least.

Question

How far is the train?

Answer

Penn Station is an 8-minute walk to the Ace hotel. Grand Central Station is a 20-min walk, or 5-min car ride, to the Ace hotel.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, aside from our niece and nephews who have a role in the ceremony, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids in the care of a trusted sitter so you can celebrate with us. Let us know if you have any concerns.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We have a strict guest list due to the capacity limit of the rooftop (our reception venue). Our wedding is RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

Black tie optional. The bridal party will be in long dresses and tuxedos, and we invite you to dress up with us. But we want you to feel comfortable, so if those shoes are too high or that top button gets too tight, let it all hang loose and enjoy yourself! We support wearing comfortable shoes or packing flats in your handbag (fellow heel lovers), so you can dance the night away with us.

Question

Is it outdoor or indoor?

Answer

A little of both! Though mostly indoor. Our ceremony will be indoors, but you may mingle outside in the church garden. Our reception is in a 2-story venue: an open-air rooftop deck (cocktail hour, photo opps, bar) and an indoor loft (sit-down dinner, dance floor, another bar). The rooftop has a retractable ceiling in case of rain. Both floors have a restroom and are accessible by elevator.

Question

I Have A Food Allergy, Can I Make A Special Request?

Answer

Yes! Please let us know ASAP. You will also have the option to indicate this on your RSVP menu item card.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

The sooner you can let us know, the better! You'll have the option to mail back the card with your menu selection or RSVP online. We request all responses by August 15. Be sure to indicate specific guest name attendance & each guest's meal selection.

Question

Are covid tests and masks required?

Answer

Proof of vaccine (1 dose minimum) is required per NYC mandate. We request that everyone get a Covid test a few days prior to the wedding to ensure a safe and stress-free experience for all. You can get a rapid test here, tests are free in NYC - no appointment or insurance necessary. Masks are not required at our ceremony or reception but you are welcome to wear one if you'd feel more comfortable.
