James and Christina met on June, 19th 2017. At the time James was running the day-to-day for his family’s home building company in Willits. Christina was in the process of moving from Santa Barbara to Mendocino County and was looking in the area for a home to buy. Little did the two know they were about to have a chance meeting of a lifetime! When the two met for the first time James was struck by how beautiful she was, he could not stop focusing on her cute laugh, infectious personality, and even the USC sticker on the back of her truck - which he would soon use as an icebreaker! Despite James having dirty work clothes on and a 2 month beard, Christina was also instantly curious about the tall guy working around the subdivision. In their first interaction, James and Christina had an instant connection and for the first hour of their meeting hardly even spoke one word about a house, instead laughed and talked as the time went by! Later that week, Christina decided to move forward with buying a home in Willits, but because of James’ lack of note taking during the meeting, he had to ask for her phone number to follow up. Convenient! After a year-long courtship of trying to balance business, casual flirting, finishing a house, and yes a dinner or two, the pair officially became “boyfriend and girlfriend” in the Summer of 2018. But by that time James already knew Christina was the one! He was quietly ring shopping and planning out his strategy on how to ask Christina to marry him! James and Christina both found their, “when you know, you know” person. With the ring in hand and permission granted, the two got engaged on November 21st, 2018 on the Mendocino Coast. It was the day before Thanksgiving. Now here they are, getting ready to become The Mitchell’s, almost two years exactly to the day that they first met! See you in Willits!
