How We Met

August 28, 2015

We are one of those lucky couples who gets to share that we met the romantic, old fashioned way...online! On our first date, we met at an Argentinian restaurant in Culver City for empanadas and wine. Eddie was standing outside the restaurant waiting for me and as I walked up, I remember feeling shocked and pleasantly surprised as to how good-looking and tall he was. During dinner I couldn't read him and tell whether he was into me or not so out of nervousness, I kept on talking. He later admitted his initial thoughts were that he liked this girl but she talks too much. I wasn't sure how our first date went but agreed to a second date later that week. This date involved visiting the space shuttle Endeavour museum at the California Science Center, daydreaming through the rose gardens while we held hands, eating the famous Pink's hot dogs, and visiting an art exhibition at MacArthur Park - all common things in LA I had never done before which Eddie was excited to show me for the first time. It was on this date that he opened up and I got to experience his personality and humor and see how endearing and sweet he is. It was on this date that I knew there was something special about this guy and I wanted to know everything about him. - Christina

When I Knew You Were The One

I don’t think there was an official “A-Ha!” moment, but I did notice that my behavior started to change. I didn't want to do anything without her. If there had to be a moment, it was when we first started dating. We had met for dinner and after we finished I told her I needed to go home. When she asked why, I sheepishly replied, “Because the new Star Wars video game just came out and I have to play it.” She looked at me like I had just slapped her and said, “That’s so lame!” She still went out with me after that...and that's how I knew she was the one. - Eddie

The Proposal

July 10, 2017

I knew exactly how I wanted to do it after we had only been dating a month or so. Christina had the audacity to leave me for weeks on a European trip with her friends. Her friend Amanda did a mock proposal to her at the Eiffel Tower and I wasn't about to be shown up like that! I also ain't ballin' like that so I did my best. I got a ring and made dinner reservations at the Eiffel Tower restaurant in Las Vegas. I gave her the excuse that one of the hotels had given me free tickets to a Keith Sweat concert (they did) and that was the reason we were going on a Vegas trip. I remember being nervous not just because of the moment, but because I was trying to discreetly text the photographer I hired to let him know when to make his way over for the big moment. After dinner, the plan was for the dessert dish to come out with the words "Will you marry me?" written on it. When it did, I remember everything after that moving in slow motion. My palms were so sweaty the ring kept slipping from my fingers as I tried to grab it from my pocket. I got down on one knee and said, "So...will you?" and the rest is history. - Eddie Bonus: now I have a legit excuse to suggest future Vegas trips!
