Christina and Chris truly did find love in a hopeless place—Lot D of MetLife Stadium before a Bills vs. Jets game. Chris broke the ice with the unforgettable line, “Wanna do a shot of Apple Jack?” and, against all odds (and despite Christina not liking whiskey), it worked. After a quick but easy conversation, they exchanged numbers and headed into the stadium, where they spent most of the game texting about how terribly the Jets were playing. (Final score: 41–10. Enough said.) Their shared devotion to this heartbreakingly beloved team became the first thread connecting them—a bond forged in mutual loyalty, mutual suffering, and mutual hope that maybe next year would be the Jets’ year. A few weeks later, they met for their first date at The Bonnie. There was none of the usual first-date awkwardness; conversation flowed effortlessly. They talked about their families and upbringings, their passions and careers, favorite writers, and, of course, how each had come to be a Jets fan. That night began a conversation that simply never stopped. Seven years later, they still look forward to talking about everything—big and small—every single day. Those years have been filled with laughter, adventures, travel, career milestones, a never-ending search to find the perfect dirty martini, the blending of friends and family, becoming dog parents to Scout, and countless Sundays cheering (and groaning) for their New York Jets. Together, Chris and Christina have grown as individuals and partners, and they couldn’t be more excited to become husband and wife. They are deeply grateful to be surrounded by the friends and family who have supported them along the way and cannot wait to celebrate with you in May!
