Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail

The hike and bike trail runs along Ladybird lake, and connects Barton Springs, Zilker Park and other major landmarks in the downtown area. Great for a morning run!

Zilker Metropolitan Park

One of our favorite spots to take Sophie! Zilker is an off-leash dog park and it’s an all-around wonderful place to hang out on a beautiful day.

Get the migas taco. You will thank us later.

Kerlin BBQ

The bbq is good, but the kerlaches (kolaches - a czech breakfast pastry filled with meat and cheese) are divine 🙏 served Wed-Sun from 11am until sold out.

Peter Pan Mini-Golf

BYOB mini golf (cash only, no glass). ‘Nuff said.

Barton Creek Greenbelt

Gorgeous trail for hiking - bring water, especially if you hit the hill of life! It’s easy to get lost so make sure you stay on the trail.

Craft Pride

One of our favorite places for craft beer in Austin - everything on tap is brewed in Texas (and we’ve got a lot of great beer). If you’re looking for nightlife, Rainey street is the place to go!

Suerte

Mexican food is our favorite cuisine, and this is our favorite place for tacos. The suadero tacos (brisket confit) are small but life changing 👌 if you’ve got a sweet tooth, also try the butternut squash blondie!

ATX Cocina

Some of the best Mexican food in the city (and that’s saying something because it is Austin’s specialty).

Texas Chili Parlor

The diviest of dive bars. The food is cheap (and so are the drinks) but for $10 you can get enough food for two and a couple of drinks. Try the migas!

St. Elmo Brewing Company

One of our favorite breweries in Austin! They’ve got a food trailer out back named Soursop that also has amazing food. Try their small-batch specialty brews to get the full experience.

Valentina's Tex Mex BBQ

Best breakfast tacos in the city. Go for the real deal Holyfield (it’s more of a burrito than a taco).

Cafe Malta

Bob recommends the salads - he once ate here 5 times in one month, so you know it’s good.

South Congress Cafe

The fire and ice is a spicy, delicious refreshment for a warm day. Hang out on their patio (but beware - South Congress is a hotspot, so if you’re set on eating here and don’t want to wait, show up right when they open).

Banger's Sausage House & Beer Garden

Housemade sausages, an off leash dog park and a bar with 50+ taps of delicious beer!

Moonshine Grill

Their Sunday brunch buffet is bae 😍

Barton Springs Municipal Pool

A spring-fed pool with a year-round temperature of 68 degrees. PERFECT for a hot day. Bring water shoes :)

Odd Duck

One of our absolute favorite restaurants in Austin - we spent our 7th anniversary here. The menu may not sound super appetizing, but step outside of your comfort zone for Odd Duck: you won’t regret it. The fried fish head is one of the best things we’ve ever eaten!

Mount Bonnell

A very quick hike, Mount Bonnell is the highest point in Austin. Bring your comfy shoes!
