Christina, let's talk about why you love Andy?

Answer

When Andy smiles and laughs it fills me up with joy and makes me want to freeze each and every one of those moments in time.

What about his creativity?

Answer

While I sometimes question the "method to his madness," I am astounded by Andy's ability to think on his feet, strategize with others, and come up with amazing ideas no matter what he is doing.

Is he nurturing?

Answer

If I am having a hard time, Andy will drop whatever he is doing and be there for me no matter what I need.

How are his hugs?

Answer

Andy John Gordon gives the BEST hugs ever and that's a fact. Period.

Does he have any talents or special interests?

Answer

This is one of my all-time favorites. It's hard to put into words, but I'll attempt to do so. Put simply, there is much more to Andy than meets the eye. He surprises me everyday with all of the things he pursues and shows interest in, which makes me even more proud of him.

What are 5 more things you love about your future husband?

Answer

1. Hair- Silky smooth, like Pantene Pro-V commercial status. It's the best. 2. Humor- Andy can always make me laugh. I love that Andy isn't afraid to be a goofball no matter where we are, and keep me laughing. Additionally, he can be deemed a "king" of humorous sarcasm. 3. His love for dogs- Or as Andy would call them, "doggos." And if it's his family's princess Portuguese water dog, Gabby (aka the "Poodoo"), I knows to step aside. 4. Passion- Andy Gordon does not just give 50%. He gives 200%. He communicates what he believes with conviction no matter what anyone thinks. 5. Ability to communicate and resolve conflict- I have told Andy that he has made me into a better partner and friend to my friends because of the communication and conflict resolution skills bestowed upon me by him. Andy is sensitive and sweet, and always makes an effort to communicate and resolve conflict, even in the most tough situations.

Andy, its your turn! How would you describe Christina?

Answer

Determined... Her sheer force of will is amazing. So much of what I love about Christina are traits that I wish that I possessed, none more so than her superhuman will. No matter who counts her out or what is thrown at her, she will run through whatever wall is in front of her. And then the wall after that. Run a marathon? Sounds good. Managing two caseloads during a pandemic? No problem. Take a new Bar exam and move across the country? Bring it on. She is incapable of giving up. I often evaluate myself by comparing my qualities against my friends who best embody that quality. But with Christina, that would be like trying to race the Flash. So instead, I get to be inspired on a daily basis by my personal superhero.

She sounds like a very generous person...

Answer

She shows up for the people in her life. When Christina Bazak cares about you, you know it. She shows up for you in ways that you didn’t even realize were an option. She doesn’t just do this for me or for her family. This is her default setting for every friend and acquaintance, no matter how far away they are. It goes beyond generosity of spirit: she legitimately cares about you. She will go above and beyond for someone she just met because she cares about them. As an introvert, her consistent and outgoing friendliness to almost every person she meets is astounding to me. I usually just save that level of energy for dogs.

Does Christina love the west coast?

Answer

She has such pride in being from Los Angeles. This girl loves her hometown and she is not afraid to tell you, no matter where on God’s green earth you might be. Surrounded by Red Sox fans in a Boston bar? She’ll be wearing a Dodgers hat and talking trash. Again for an introvert, this behavior is attractive regardless but with Chris it goes beyond that. Now that we live in LA, experiencing the city with her is a joy because I’m seeing it through her eyes. She wants every visitor to understand the stories of the buildings, the neighborhoods, and the people that make LA what it is. LA means something to her, she’s connected to it in her bones, and she wants to share the connection, which is why LA’s become a second home to me. After so much uprooting early in our relationship, seeing her at peace in a place means the world to me.

Can Christina get much by you?

Answer

When she is truly happy or excited about something, you will know! This girl doesn’t have a poker face and it is the best. When she is excited, she absolutely lights up with unrestrained joy. Not only is she even more gorgeous in these moments, but, given my generally dour outlook on anything at any given point, being around an excited Christina Bazak is like a shot of vitamin C to my system. It is impossible not to be a little more excited about life when you are around her. Quite simply, she makes life fun and she has the most fun when everyone else is having fun.

Tell us why you are proud of her...

Answer

She believes in right and wrong. She cares deeply about doing the right thing and doing things the right way. She doesn’t cut corners and she gets annoyed when others do because it makes life more difficult for the people she is trying to help. She holds herself to an incredibly high standard. She is willing to go that extra mile and be creative to find that solution that will make a difference for a client. Her sense of justice is rooted deeply in compassion and an understanding of the systemic inequalities that plague society. It’s one of the reasons why I look up to her as an aspiring attorney. How she lives her life and does her job makes me proud just to know her, let alone be her partner.

Tell us something adorable about Christina...

Answer

When she falls asleep on the couch, she gets grumpy when I wake her up! Most nights of the week during the pandemic, our evening ends on the couch with an episode of Schitt’s Creek or Brooklyn 99. Christina almost always falls asleep first and she falls asleep like a toddler. She watches TV horizontally: she needs a blanket, 1-2 pillows, and her water bottle. Within 30 minutes, she is adorably snoozling. When I try to wake her up so that we can go to bed, 1.) it’s a multi-step process and 2.) she usually only communicates in sounds and eye glares. It’s the cutest damn thing.

What is something you noticed right away with Christina?

Answer

Her self-confidence and the way she confounds people’s expectations of her. My dad once told me how to respond to trash talk on a football field: say nothing. Instead, you outwork your opponent, knock him down, pick him up, and do the same thing every play until he has nothing left to say. Nobody embodies that like Chris. Since she knows that she will outwork you, she has no problem with standing toe-to-toe with you. This was true a Dension and it’s especially true now: she is unflappable and she is brilliant. An attorney who has never met her likely sees this smiling friendly young woman and assumes that she’s a pushover. They don’t realize that they’ve just stepped into the ring with Tyson. So when you come at the Queen, you best not mess because God have mercy on any person that underestimates this woman.

Does Christina have a happy place?

Answer

Disneyland is her happy place. Essentially regular love for something... times approximately one billion. It is impossible to have a bad day if you are going to Disneyland with Christina Bazak. It’s why I proposed there: it’s her happy place. As an added benefit, her obsession with Disney makes me like it’s ok for me to still love comic books.

What is your most favorite thing about your future wife?

Answer

Her patient belief in me. There are few things- if any that- that I cherish more than this. She has always seen me in ways that I am unable to see myself. She sees the good and reaches for it, even when I’m at my worst. She is proud of me when I’m not proud of myself. She understands the broken parts, even as she asks me to work on them and does her own work. She accepts me without condition. Her belief and how she acts on it is how I know in the deepest parts of myself that she loves me. It’s why I trust her implicitly and completely. Her belief makes me believe that I can be what she sees. It’s why I will never give up on her or ever stop trying to reward her with the best version of myself. She makes it easier to love me.
