How We Met

Amy and Christina first met on an online dating site and quickly discovered they had much in common, including their line of work. Amy had just moved to San Jose, CA to work for a company where Christina had previously worked, so they both knew a lot of the same people. After talking for a few days, Amy and Christina decided to meet for their first date on July 4, 2017. Late in the evening on July 3, 2017, Christina's friend called to invite her to a barbecue at her house the next day. Christina's friend mentioned that she wanted her to meet her new coworker because she thought they had the same sense of humor and would hit it off. Christina asked who the coworker was and was told her name was Amy. By this time, it was too late to contact Amy that night so Christina had to wait until the next morning to figure out what to do. The morning of July 4, Christina and Amy decided to meet for bubble tea before going to the barbecue. They have been happily together ever since. Both Amy and Christina think it is really special that they would have met on the same day regardless; from the online dating site or through their mutual friend. They were meant to be together!

The Proposal

Christina knew she wanted to propose to Amy for a long time and just how she wanted to do it. Throughout their relationship, Amy and Christina often gave one another compliments they referred to as "just facts." Over time Christina created a list of these facts, the reasons she loved Amy so much. Christina took this list and some art supplies and got to work. Christina created 50 wood circle medallions, each painted with a reason she loves Amy. Christina put 48 of them in a jar and presented it to Amy. Amy opened it and read each medallion, one by one. Then when she got to the final one, Christina pulled two more out of her pocket. First she handed Amy one that read "I want to spend the rest of my life with you." Then, "Will you marry me?" and Amy said "Yes!"
