We're getting married!

Technically, we first met in high school Spanish class... but Christina doesn’t remember that. Life had other plans for us, though, and years later, we crossed paths again—this time through family. Elias (T) happens to be first cousins with the husband of Christina’s best friend, Joseph. So, we started running into each other at family gatherings pretty regularly. Christina got a little nosy (as she does) and asked Elias more questions about his life. That’s when she found out he had just started working at LANL. Elias suggested we catch up sometime, but Christina didn’t think much of it. Fast forward to January 2023: Christina and Diana were at a baby shower when Elias posted a picture of a cozy fireplace in Red River. Christina commented, “That looks nice.” Elias responded, inviting her up to hang out sometime. Christina politely declined—Red River wasn’t quite her vibe—but he followed up with a suggestion to grab lunch instead. Christina told him to message her, and he did… the very next day at work. He asked if she was free Tuesday. She wasn’t. But Thursday worked. Christina texted Diana, saying she didn’t really want to go to lunch with “T,” and Diana told her she had to go. That’s when Christina realized, thanks to a little Facebook digging, that it was actually T’s birthday that Thursday—which meant she couldn’t back out and she had to pay! That lunch turned into quite the event—Christina ran into a bunch of people she knew from work and, so she had to introduce Elias to everyone. The restaurant he originally picked turned out to be closed, so Christina suggested they grab drinks after work instead. At drinks, Christina again ran into more people she knew and joked, “Great, now everyone’s going to think we’re dating.” Elias replied, “Well, why don’t we?” And just like that, everything changed. We’ve been together ever since that first lunch-turned-drinks on January 19, 2023—and we haven’t looked back, except to laugh at how it all began.
