Our Story

Christie and Simen met in "Writing 101" at Duke University back in 2015. Over summer session they spent many evenings walking to get ice cream.

Christie and Simen cheered for Duke at many basketball games and even spent a few nights camping out in KVille.

In May 2018, Christie and Simen graduated from Duke and their families met for the first time!

Christie made her first trip over to Norway in 2016 where they climbed Pulpit Rock and swam in a glacial river.

On her second trip to Norway, Christie conquered her fear of heights on a via ferrata experience!

In 2022, after finishing his masters in Norway, Simen joined Christie and Gillian in London!

Christie’s family visited Norway for the first time in July 2024!

Christie and Simen moved to Oslo in August 2024 and recently bought an apartment together.

Simen proposed to Christie under the Northern Lights on January 26, 2025 and she was one happy bundled up bean!
